Let's imagine the uproar if the club has got rid of Kinsella and kept Robson. Should that be the basis for keeping or getting rid of a coach? No but regardless some have already called for Kinsella to be 1st team manager and other for him to be sacked cos the reserves keep losing.
I wonder if Mark Robson was pressured out of the club because he wasn't subservient to Alan Pardews way of doing things in all matters? Or could it be that he saw he would be getting a better job?

I remember Pardew said the club had to make cuts (seem to remember it being £300k?) in staff wages, think that was Robson, and they also mentioned a couple of medical people left.
I said at the time that MR's departure was bad news for the club - the reason being that his former track record as the U18 coach had been excellent. Post-Curbs, he was the link (that had been sorely missing) to transition young pros into the first team. If ever we needed someone of top calibre to do this job it is now as we rebuild hopefully with a core home-grown players. Would it have made a meaningful difference to current League position over the first 3rd of the season? Anyone's guess. I think quite possibly.
Things may have changed since I last looked, but my understanding is that Phil Parkinson was brought in on some kind of temporary basis, and Mark Robson was first team coach. Since then Parkinson has stayed (anybody know his job spec, or basis for employment?), and Mark Robson has gone. Far be it from me to suggest it's jobs for old mates, and a decent club man like Mark has been frozen out (accompanied by many crocodile tears), and that Mark Kinsella isn't as easy a target to bully out of the club. I mean after all Alan Pardew is a man of impeccable character, he did attend that supporters meeting, so that proves it!
seth...it must be Pardews fault of course...I mean to say, everthing is isn't it?
If it starts to rain at Sparrows Lane it seems to be Pardews fault nowadays....well according to some folk that is.
Sound. ...well not everything, but the staffing scenario, those who have a major influence on the players, is certainly within Alan Pardews sphere of influence.
I just came on to raise the Robson issue and saw the thread had already started. He is very well respected within the Boardroom and wasn't he being 'groomed' as our next manager when he was first team coach. He left seemingly amicably and under the guise of a cost cutting exercise but I heard rumours at the time that there was a falling out with Pards. Robson's own reason as wishing to persue a managerial career didn't wash with me as non-one makes themselves redundant of their own violition and staying with us wouldn't have prevented him from applying for other jobs. The only downside is a lack of experience but you can only get that by doing the job. Question is are we able to take a 'gamble' ? Well, in my opinion, it would be very, very hard to do a worse job than Pardew so why not.

Don't forget, West Ham won the World Cup in 1966.

I would imagine that Pardew was the one who ousted him.
Amongst other potential candidates Dowie comes in at 20-1.
