relegation fight or promotion contenders?

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
Bored at work I was just casually looking at the championsip table at it dawn on me just how much work the team would need to do to get into the top 6 - this after pardew said that we weren't in a relegation scrap.

currently the 4 teams in the play-off places are averaging around 1.75 points per game - assuming this continues for the next, say, 12 games would take them to around 50 points.

to get to 50 points after 29 games we would need another (50-16) = 34 points. Therefore out of the next 12 games we would need to win 11 and draw 1, losing none on the way.

now then - who thinks this is possible ?

  • relagation fight for me, had a nice chuckle when i read the bexleyheath newspaper with the headline "Hudson, We can still make the playoffs" i nearly fell of the toilet with laughter when i read that...
  • But there are 29 games left in all.

Those teams aren't going to average 1.75 points per game for the next 29 games.
  • We will go up automatically.

Have some faith in Super Super Alan Pardew.
  • Not that I'm saying we'll make the play offs by the way.

I think it's going to be mid table obscurity again.
  • Palace were near bottom at Christmas and won the play-offs, which is more convincing than a bit of random stattery!
    Who knows?

For now I'll be happy to start winning a few games for the rest of the year, and then see at the half-way mark if we are looking up or down.
  • Can't bare to think about being where we'll be in 12 games time, just approaching each game as it comes & hope we win the next game, Just hope we have 50 points on the Board before our annual end of season collapse that we have had EVERY year in the last ten at least why will this one be any different ?
  • relegation fight..........

if we go down i will drink a whole bottle of wild turkey, in shots, on my own, in the dark.....
  • ps mumbling to myself about charlton.......
