Help

Unfortunately yesterday after a short illness my mother passed away. We have decided to scatter her ashes on the hallowed turf, can this be done on a matchday and who is best to ask at the club?

  • Very sorry to hear that Welsh, hope you are ok.

I'm sure others will correct me, but i'm not sure they allow that anymore. I think they may use the area between the East and South, though i stress i'm not sure.
  • Deepest condolences
  • Welsh,i hope you and your family are ok my thoughts are with you,may she rest in peace.Hopefully the club will replicate the minutes applause this year as I found it extremely touching and uplifting last year.

Welsh, what AFKA says is correct. There is a place of remembrance in between the East and South.

Wouldn't know who to contact anymore at the club but I'm sure Henry Irving will know.

Condolences to you and your family.
  • My thoughts are with You and Your Family.
  • I'm quite sure that there is a special place for this between the East and Jimmy Seed stands.

Condolences to you and your family.
  • Cheers lads for your messages, it means a lot.
  • My condolences to you and your family. When my dad died in September 1992, I kept hold of his ashes in the hope that I could have them scattered at the Valley but my request was denied.
  • Cherish your memories , my thoughts are with you.
  • My condolences Welsh.

Welsh old son...been there done it....so I know 'just' how you're feeling right now mate.
Each man and woman is an island with this episode in our life and only you can deal with it...if the word 'deal' is the right one that is.
If you whisper Henry he'll maybe tell you how you can have your mums name added to the list of departed Addicks which is going to be put up on the electronic scoreboard at the begining of each season...I think I'm right in saying this IS going to be an ongoing thing as it was started only recently.
Not sure if they are still doing the commerative bricks thing outside main reception nowadays but you might also like think of that?
Chin up pal...you'll never forget her or indeed ever want to....but it does get a little easier day by day, until you can at least learn to live with it.
  • Deepest condolences Sir
  • Deepest sympathies Weegie.

There is a memorial garden between the south and east stands where they perform scattering of ashes ceremonies. I'll whisper you the name of the club chaplain and his details.
