Refreshing to hear a player not blaming the coach for failing to make it at a club though but it does make us ask the question "why did we sign him in the first place?"
Really thought he was going to be one of our greats.
I was in New York just after we signed him and bought a hot dog from a stand just because the guy was wearing an Iranian shirt with Bagheri on the back. I got talking to the guy and he knew about him signing for a big english club, he described him as being "better than George Best"

Does anyone remember the name of the Iranian lad who used to post on NA at that time ? Think Sailor met him at a reserves game once.
He arranged for an 'Iranian Charlton supporters team' to play our Charlton Internet one. They had a kit that consisted of white cotton t-shirts and black shorts, and looked like a school PE session !

KB: Oh, ok, I get it. Paul Konchesky, who you mentioned first, was my teammate at Charlton. He was left back and had a shaved head. He was a good player.
IV: Our interest is not in Paul...we really wanted you to give your opinion about Curbishley. Did you know that Konchesky is now playing with Andranik Teymourian at Fulham? He recently asked Ando about you during training and said, where is Karim Bagheri now?
KB: You mean he remembers that I played at Charlton?
IV: Exactly...he told Ando that Karim Bagheri was Charlton's best midfielder and, in training, he scored goals from 30 meters.
WE SHOULD SNAP HIM UP! Completely bypass the strikers!
At the time we signed him some scouse mates of ours were highly amused as during the world cup that summer paraguay had a player who's name was pronounced "arse" and they were desperate for iran to meet paraguay at some stage just in the comentary mentioned "Bagheri Arse"

The guys name was Omid. The number of times I went on NA Chat and there he was which gave me ample opportunities (which I took) to PM him in Arabic as Karim Bagheri.
The number of times he fell for it thinking I was Karim Bagheri!It was funny for me (small things small minds etc).
