[cite]Posted By: Covered End[/cite]he's about the only player we have who could possibly keep his place in The Prem.
This is absurd - in place of who exactly? Which Premiership team could you ever even suppose might be half interested in signing him and giving him a run in the first team. They'd have to be mad.
No I'm saying that in the HIGHLY unlikely event that we got promoted via the play offs, Weaver would be the most likely person to keep his place along with Hudson.
Semedo hasn't even been able to keep a place in the current team.Although I hope he is now given a run.
With all due respect as I've seen 90% of the games Weaver has played for Charlton and you have not been able to as you live in France then I think I have a better perspective.
[cite]Posted By: Carter[/cite]I think the yids and Boro would both be interested in having him instead of the disasters currently occupying the number one jersey for both of them
And you can add that I think he's at least as good as Myhill at Hull and Sorensen at Stoke.
Fair enough but I've seen enough of Weaver to know that he's not good enough for The Premiership anymore. I don' want to argue about Weaver because he's probably the best we've got in that position anyway. I just can't see why some people think he's so great but slag off other players all the time.
I don't think he's so great. I think he's adequate. But like it or not he has been our most consistent performer and it really pis#es me off when the bloke slips over and gets coated for it. We've got no chance if we're even gonna start slagging off our best / one of our best players.
Disappointed to lose by the odd goal in five, but very pleased to hear from those who there that we put in a good performance and played as a team. With more good performances our luck will change soon and the victories will come.

Well spoken up, Covered End.
We all know Weaver's not perfect - but he's well good enough at the level we're playing, and better than many keepers in this division.
So the guy makes a mistake - it's not his first, and it won't be his last. But his general standard of performance is usually dependable. I'm happy with that.
Who are the best keepers in the country ..... Cech, James, Green, Robinson, Carson, etc ?
As we've seen from time to time on TV, they all drop a clanger once in a while.
Exiled Addick....... you are indicating that slipping over was a mistake......it wasn't a mistake at all, it just happens, so you can't fault him...the worlds best keeper can slip just like any player out on the park....leave him alone there's others out there who you need to be slagging off way before Nicky Weaver.
All the best....Mr Smug.
Having seen the replay he could actually have just let the ball go out for a goal kick, but even I will admit thats a very harsh thing to criticise him on. You're all missing the point anyway, I've admitted there was a fair amount of bad luck attached to the second Birmingham goal. He did however, and this is why I gave him a 3, make 5 other mistakes in the game and generally looked a bit shaky. I don't rate him, I freely admit it but I've no agenda here and if he'd pulled off 5 world class saves then I'd have given him a 9 or a 10 but the fact is, in my opinion (and why am I being slated for giving that - thats what this board is about isn't it?) he had a poor game.
