of talk recently about players who are useless while with us but good once they leave.
So a two part question:
a) who have we released that we should have kept bearing in mind someone like Michael turner was crowded out by better players as we were in the Prem?
b) what players have come to us and improved?
To kick it off I give you Lisbie for a) (is Varney any better?) and Mark kinsella for b)

not that i didn't rate him for us but Wolves have certainly done better at fulfilling his true potential.
b) Darren Bent, luke young the only 2 I can name
b) Derek hales
b)John Robinson
b) Kinsella is probably the best example but you could also argue Andy Hunt and Clive Mendonce also, although they were both good players before coming here they both enjoyed their best seasons here. Infact that could pretty much be said for most of the 1997-2000 ssquads they all improved here.
Gough and Elliot were weren't there long enough. Shittu and Turner were just down the pecking order with established players ahead of them.
Iwelumo was certainly not useless for us.
Primus was let go because Rufus was considered the better bet (and he had some off field problems).
So as far as a) is concerned Lisbie is the only taker in my opinion
As for the second category
Hales, Robinson, Kinsella, Humphrey, Mendonca, Luke Young, Chris Powell, Flanagan, Robinson, Andy Hunt, Kiely

I don't think that Big Chris has improved since he left us, it just that now he's at a team that play to his strengths rather than just hoofing hopeful long balls up to him.
Well he's stopped getting injured so often, but as a player he's probably just gained confidence from scoring goals by playing every week and being under a lot less pressure.
