On-loan goalkeeper Darren Randolph is 'unlikely' to play for Hereford United again after refusing to start the FA Cup tie with Dagenham & Redbridge.
Randolph is on loan at Hereford from Charlton Athletic until January and has made 14 appearances for Graham Turner's side.
Turner has been trying to sign Matt Murray on loan from Wolves and the situation prompted Randolph to decline to play in Saturday's 0-0 draw.
Craig Samson replaced Randolph in the team and Bulls boss Turner has confirmed the Irish keeper is unlikely to figure for the club again before the end of his loan spell.
"The team, which included Darren, was announced to the players prior to Friday morning's training," said Turner in a statement on the club's official website.
"Two hours before kick-off on Saturday, Darren informed me that he had heard we were interested in another goalkeeper therefore he refused to take part in the match.
"Had he been a contracted player with us his contract would have been terminated for a serious breach of its terms. However, being on a standard loan the maximum disciplinary action we can take is to fine him two weeks' wages.
"Darren has to remain our player until January, but it is unlikely that he will play for us again."

Should have just got on with it? Can't blame them for looking for new players when his loan ends in January.

Silly comment scruffle, when you're not in possesion of the full circumstances.
bring the boy home Mr Pardew
fully agree
A lot of ifs but I see his point
VERY
Seth Plum has nailed it - Randolph appears to know that he's not going to be kept on by Hereford, if they're getting a new keeper in. And he doesn't want to be cup tied.
Good point, was thinking he didn't want to play because they were signing someone to replace him, but it could well be because he didn't want to be cup tied.
hmm note to self must try harder

Also agree
I think we should hear his side of the story 'before' making a judgement.
It may well be that he's at fault (in which case I'll say so) but we can't go jumping to conclusions unil we know the facts and hear his side of the story.
Don't know much about the lad but he's thought of as being a level headed young man with a good attitude....so one has to wonder what's gone down here?
If that happened to us we all would be up in arms and slatting the player telling Pards to sort it out send him back were he came from etc etc
No reason why anyone should defend this lad.
Its part and parcel of football he is on loan of course tehy will be looking for a keeper to replace him.
bring him back he is too good for fecking hereford
ok not teh same but sent of so he could not play Darren refuses to play
We slatted Mills same thing happens in the mills went of and never played again and Dartren will come back and never play again
Mills was called all the wotsits under the sun, and im sure Hereford fans will feel just as let down as we were and they are totally right.
Toys prams comes to mind
Its common sense that the Hereford Manager is looking to get a replacement for Darren if he is to return in Jan
We should atleast give Randolph the chance to explain his side before we slate him, he is after all our player and IMO quite a good goalie.
we have a manager who wants to stick with Varney for his confidence but Randolph makes a mistake is out at Hereford,
Bring him back and look after him thats what we should do and feck hereford off and their fans if they give it about him
are you the same guy who used to post on Frankie Valley ?
Ok fair point maybe I reacted a little quickly without assitaining the facts,
however gettin very fed up with players attitudes. Not 'wanting' to play and chucking their toys out the pram, they have possibly the best job in the world, which they get paid handsomely for it, If any of us acted like that in our job we'd get the boot. If they don't wanna play then don't there are millions of people with more commitment waiting to take their place.
If it was anyone with half a brain then they would have tried to perform the best they could and stick two fingers up at the boss for searching for a replacement.
I can see where he's coming from on this but as Chunes says it's a bit unprofessional.
