"Last year we made some loan moves that didn't work out. This year, they've been strong and we have to make sure we get the right people in. We've covered a lot of ground, made a lot of phone calls. I've been offered a few players which I've rebuffed, and we're waiting on others to get back to us.
"We have to face facts that we're not scoring goals, we need to get more threat on the pitch, control the game more and be a bit more dominant at set-plays."
So Pardew by the sounds of it is looking to get a striker in because we are not scoring goals. This is ridiculous. What an insult to Dickson and Mcleod, that he'd rather play an unscoring Luke Varney for the entire season so far then to give either of them a run in the team. And when that doesn't work out, he dips into the loan market.
Who wants to bet that the loan striker will still be partnering Varney? I would say that Pardew has lost it but I don't think it was ever really there. Bloke is clueless.

What has brought us success? Hmmmmmmmmm............
Of course he won't be sure about bringing in CMs, as he already has to try and fit in Bailey, Holland, ZZ and Racon when their back, and Shelvey and Wright need games when possible.
It'll be interesting to see who he brings in and sends out. He's saying he needs a long think about it and won't rush it, he knows he has to get it right this time - we don't need more loans like Cook who were here to get fit.
Well looking at who he's brought in I can't believe there's many (worse) he's rebuffed :-(
Thank heavens for that. He's learning, at least.
Why do clubs send players out on loan? Think about it, Mr Pardew, cos it's hardly rocket science.
Why why were you so desperate to send Marcus B and Amady Faye out on loan?
Can I suggest it was the same reason others were so happy to off-load the likes of Halford and Cook on us?
I think its a bit unfair as I don't think he has been brought on at anytime except when we are in an emergency situation. That said he did not impress when he came on against Barnsley, but then who looked any good and there were better players on the piutch than him
