Kelvin today

Love him or loathe him, he brings up a topical theme today in his colum. He questions the attendance for the Barnsley game, as well as if we as a club can fudge our gates why cant we do the same with our results.

He also states that there are many reasons for fans not turning up at games, holiday, christmas, the weather etc, but also points to having Pardew as a manager and a forward who seems to have left his legs in the changing room.

  • Kelvin is a Spanner......Not an Addick
  • probably responding to the article on the OS a few days ago
  • i reckon he's on here, can't we hunt him down and boot him off?
  • he doesn't refer to it, so I'd suspect he hasn't read it to find out why the attendances appear to be inflated....?
  • He does state that he spoke to the Charlton press office, so with this in mind did he tell them that he was going to write an articale in his colum on Thursday and the club released their version on the Tuesday?

he was not just slagging pards of more the club.
  • He used to be Millwall, he didnt like the natives there. Could bring himself to support Palace so he choose us.
  • When I started taking my son who is now 7 , three years ago,my Millwall supporting Cousin said he would bring his son along. They both enjoyed it so much they are both Season ticket holders and go both home and away.So does that mean that I should tell him to feck off coz he used to watch the spanners, that would be another 2 season tickets we have lost. Also coz he used to watch the spanners does that make him a c**t and should he not be allowed to criticise if he doesn't think we are performing to the best of our ability?

  • You sussed me;-)
  • I cant what the problem is if he used to be a spanner, it was very common in the 50's, and 60's that fans would go to Millwall and Charlton on alternative weekends..........i aint got a problem with Millwall, and dont see why we should have

That’s what my grandparent uesd to do. They were Millwall through but when they wanted a bit of culture they came down the valley.
When I was a school boy if Charlton were away I'd go to West Ham as they had 1st division football. On occasion I ventured down the Den but I never really enjoyed the football.
But I still dont think it right to change who you really support.

The article on the OS was a response to him asking questions about it, they got their retailiation in, first. The man's an effing idiot. What can the club do except report the number of tickets sold, which they HAVE to do, that's the league and tax rules.

If they did a seperate count of the number that actually show up that would a) cost money and b) confuse people as there would be two seperate figures.

If you compared Man U's (and every other club in Britain) official attendance to the number in the ground it would be lower, too. Complete non story.
  • Different to the 70s and 80s when they used to reduce the amount of people there so they didnt have to pay so much tax, i remember one night we played the Spuds in the cup, attendance 29k more like 39k
  • Petts Wood and Weegie are impostors !

It's me...(at least that's what I'm telling Kelvin's bank manager when I try to clear his account out in a minute...)
  • I've never had a problem with the spanners either, really. Although they may have some particularly unpleasant fans (though every club, including us, has some as well), they are a proper football club and not some gang of plastic glory hunters like many london clubs.

Most Millwall fans i've met have been alright and are happy to chat SE London footy. My grandad always used to say the the 'wall and Charlton fans used to mix a lot and there never was the animosity that there was between certain clubs in London.

I may hold a minority view of course!
