  • Ah the bastion of truth that is the current bun!
  • Sign him up.....I thought he was good for us.
  • Ahhh.....just realised we haven't got any moula have we. Doh!
  • How would that sit with some

As he was so fast to use the claus in his contract and go

Bags packed and for sale sign up within minutes of teh final whistle
  • suited both parties at the time we needed to cut the wage bill he wanted out.
  • Left back when we have two from Hudson/Primus/Fortune fit. Can't really see the down side.
  • HH is never a centre half I hate it when peopl ego on about it. His last season was his worst in a charlton shirt cos he played centre half and he was shocking.
  • But a far better left back than we currently have in our squad.
  • Yeah as long as he is used as that and that only
  • I love the Herminator. If he wants to return i'll steal a car and pick him up myself.

  • He was as bad as anyone in his last season, but I think he might have been carrying an injury problem?
Anyway one thing the team is missing is an up and at em attitude - for this reason getting Herman in could really be the kick up the arse this sorry bunch of players need.
  • go get him but i think his wages might be a problem...
more passion in a football shirt than many and no matter how crap he was his crap is better than anythin our left backs have shown me since he left
  • no thanks - left as soon as he could. Not interested
  • Got the sort of grit and physical presence we are sadly lacking.
    I'd have him back.
  • he wasnt up for it in ihs last season and his grit went missing but if he could come back with renewed commitment Id say yes.

i second that emotion ... i'll give you the petrol money
yes he was a better left back than centre back but ... not exactly blessed with great centre backs at the moment are we???

He was a head case and a liability at times in the last season - one time when he came off the bench, Sheff U at home, I think - nearly got sent straight back off!

Not sure he is the answer to our predicament...
  • He is by no means the player he was but we are a division lower and at least you know you get 100% from Hermann which I'm not sure is the case with some of the loanees that we have had.
  • no point even debating will not happen but i would have back as full back only

  • Cant see this being plausable but would like to see him back. His wages would be too much of a problem.
  • 34 years old and no doubt injuries have taken their toll - and he's a bit slower now.

But as Len says, we're a division lower. Providing he can still run (see Todorov), he's exactly what we need - experience, nous, physical, never say die spirit, courage ...... mental strength, that bit of backbone we're glaringly missing..

We are not talking virtuoso skill or finesse here. Somebody who's up for it and can galvanise the head droppers to stop feeling sorry for themselves, and go grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

Now that would be a loan deal worth having.
  • Stagnant. Not worth forking out for IMO.
  • He's a headcase. Just what we need in this division. Sign him up if we can afford him and any other thugs going cheap. We have been a soft touch for too long and you can't expect the likes of Sharon to do well in this division without someone else putting it about on their behalf. When I say putting it about I do not mean in a George michael/1905 moustachioed way.
  • And we could pay his wages straight into his Icelandic bank ....... or £100 cash in his hand, worth more.

    ;o)
  • He was rubbish for about 18 months before we were relegated given the time of year Lest we forget....

I think he was partially responsible for relegation he...........................
  • Last 6 months here, he was carrying a knee injury, injected before each match, rarely trained and played because Pards wanted him to.

You could see he wasn't fit, couldn't run properly ......but still gave great effort.
I wouldn't be so harsh on him.

Also it's difficult for any player to consistantly play at the top of his game in a losing side, when players all around him are low on confidence.

Providing he is fit enough to do the job, his attributes are just what we are looking for.

Fair assesment by all. The question is would he be better than Youga, Basey or Cranie? I would gamble yes.
  • Can one or two loans really change the team around and get us out the bottom?

Isn't that what we thought with Danny Mills last season? Look what happened there!
