Reserves Tonight

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
Semedo played in a holding role infront of the back four

Ex Southampton & Palace centre half Darren Powell played full 90mins as a trialist. I am asuming he was released by Southampton as he was a high wage earner - remember him as big strong centre-half.

  • How did Mcleod and Dickson do Clem ?

That explains why the OS said an unknown/unnamed player.

How did Wagstaff do? The OS said he was playing right back.
  • Match report up.

McLeod scored and his penalty hit the post. Dickson had a shot blocked on the line.

'highly-rated Jenkinson' - was he any good?
  • Darren Powell - all makes sense now. He's big and experienced, something Pardew said was missing.

Main thing is he started his career in non-league with Hampton & Richmond. Confirms Pardew is still here...
  • Didn't actually go to the game. Just read the report on the O/S.

Actually think Powell - if he can stay fit - would be an ok signing.

Hopefully Jose will get his chance Saturday.

    Goal: McLeod 56.

    Bookings: Shelvey 44 (high foot).

    Goal: Rhodes 18.

    Bookings: Campo 63 (handball).

Samedo off at half time? Could mean he's playing on Saturday or it could mean he's not in the 16 on Saturday. Who knows?

Mcleod scored and played 90 mins. That's good news.
  • I think Darren Powell would be an OK signing too, but has had a series of niggling injury problems for some time. If he's on a short-term contract then its worth a punt, at least to tide us over until Fortune comes back (think him and Hudson is our best partnership at centre half)

I was happy with Fortune and Hudson. He's more comfortable on the ball than our other centre halfs, Cranie's not too bad on the ball but isn't our player and Fortune has a lot more experience.
  • Agree about Fortune. Experience and a little bit of pace.
