  • I think our success is because we get everyone back in the 18 yard box, that certainly puts teams under pressure when the ball breaks to them outside, a familiar pattern has emerged to our defending set pieces that often ends up with ball nestling in the back of our net, To think people used to complain about Curbs being negative.
  • The solution is simple, leave 3 up front for corners. That way the opposition have to have 4 back, so with the keeper and the taker out of the equation, that only leave 5 opponents in attacking positions, one of which will almost certainly be outside the box. Result; there are now 7 defenders plus the keeper against 4 attackers in the box, giving the keeper much more room to come and claim the ball, and the attackers a far harder job of finding space (if you have a player on each post, that leaves 5 defenders against 4 attackers, so there is absolutely no excuse for any of them finding space)
