I have nothing against Pardew personally and have not joined in the booing etc BUT the statements he came out with after the game yesterday tells me he is a beaten man, firstly are we really relying on a 35 year old defender who we only have for another month anyway? if so how comes we played so much better against Burnley in the 2nd half once he had gone off? And Secondly he says he now needs to stick with his best team???? surely you should be playing your "best" team all the time! And then to say if that team is not good enough to beat the top teams we have to accept that!!!! We should be one of the top teams in the division not waving the white flag at them.
Please do the right thing and make a change now before it's too late.

Comments

  • more important to me is he says he hasn't considered his position, what utter arrogance, in what job would you not consder your position if you were failing so badly!?
  • I'm sure he joined this board just to read multiple threads like this.
  • He joined this board to dicuss Charlton I would imagine and to know what the fans are thinking surely! Or shall we all just put on rose tinted glasses and pretend everything is ok just not to upset him? Yes there are a few different posts about the same thing but if that makes the writers feel better for saying something then great thats surely what this forum is all about.

Al I agree totally with everything you have said, I too was left angered/dumbfounded by Pardew's inane comments. I am also getting fed up with his comments about us being right to boo.

Simple message pick the side you think is most likely to win most games and stick with it! Stop tinkering we are not a big side playing in loads of competitions (we will most probably be out of the FA cup in early january).

What I want to hear from him is a guarantee ala Harry that if he does suck us further down into the mire he will do the honourable thing and walk.

P.s as for Mr Chappell he is probably hurting and his mind must be a whirlwind of emotions at the moment and when he comes on here it will be when he trusts himself to answer questions in the correct manner and not with emotion that he will later regret.

Oh and can we play Semedo now?
  • he wont write anything on here about pardew or the board so we should give up asking
  • How the hell after his performance against Ipswich did Semedo not start.
  • how can he say he has given every player a chance???

    Dickson, Basey, Semedo, and Shelvey.

They have not had a fair chance.

Stop talking utter Sh#t Pardew and do us all a favour
  • Carl, agreed.
Dickson,Basey,Shelvey, Arter (when fit) and (especially) Semedo should have a run in the team.
  • I would not like to see Shelvey play too often at the moment, we have seen what happened to Leaburn when he was forced to play too young in a struggling side and although Shelvey is a definite star in the making we have to be careful with him.

We are shit and we do not want the rubbish around him to slow his progress!
  • I am one of jon jo's biggest advocates on here but i would be shielding him from this bollox at the moment people were on Wrights case on saturday so he wouldnt stand a chance he should have been tried at the begining with the pressure off

If Pardew is going to play his "best" team which I can onlty assume means not chopping and changing the side to match the opposition's strenghts and weaknesses but playing the most balanced XI every week then I'd play Shelvey in the middle of a five man midfield. WIth Bailey and Semedo behind him to cover the back four his defensive weaknesses would be covered and we'd have the passing and deadballs. 4 - 5- 1 may not seem that exciting but I think that it might be the best formation for what we have.

I wouldn't have a problem with that formation however as our main source of creativity I think that it would put a lot of pressure on a youngster with only a handful of first team games.

    Only until ZZ is fit.

Less pressure if Bailey and Bouazza are playing and people who know him tell me he has the mental strength.

    Weaver
    Moo2 Hudson Primus Youga
    Semedo
    Sam Bailey Bouazza
    Shelvey ----
    McLeod
  • I would swap Buzz for Varney but i like your thinking
