Has he gone yet?

If not why not?
Taking the dog out for a walk, hopefully when I get back, there may be some news.

  • You'll be lucky. We can't afford to pay him off. We're stuck with him :o (
  • This is where contracts are crazy. If someone is clearly not doing their side of the deal why should they be paid off?

exactly, what other lines of work do you get paid for getting sacked?
  • who actually knows how much it will cost to pay him off it only cost 150k to get rid of dowie i would pressume pardew is the same
  • The problem as I see it; Pards gos we get the best we can as a replacement, we still have the same players who clearly arnt up to job in hand.
  • it just goes to show that dowie must have done something seriously out of hand because performances and results wernt as bad as this

in dowies case I believe that there were grounds for negliance or misconduct - rumours went that he showed a lax attitude towards attendance, missed training, got the team lost on a training run, bucked the mangement structure using his brother to talk to the squad even though he was employed by palace - not sure how much was true, but can same be said of Pardew? In my limited knowledge experience of such matters unless some kind of case can be made or agreement come to he would be paid off the rest of his contract which one assumes is a fairly respectable premier league manager package, so perhaps 750k-1m is a more realistic figure?
  • I reckon that similar to Dowie there is a pay off fee agreed in the contract much as Pardew had a million pound bonus had we stayed up i dont believe we wouldnt have put something in there that would muck us up if we wanted to feck him off for reasons like this
  • I make you wrong dude, sorry just my opinion

I am on for a contract around 750k for 3.5 years, and im going to agree to a clause that lets them boot me for 150k and my repuatation at any stage, not likely..
  • we will lose more by keeping him and going down! if the board want rid of him they should get rid. my bet is they are scared to act

  • lets hope i aint raz or we are going to be stuck with the big nosed bstd you really no how to make my day worse i had convinced my self we wouldnt be as stoopid to have not put in a clause
  • sorry mate, never been a pessimist or optimist, just a realist, the problem being that the real world is... a piece of shit when you look it at it.

    :)))))
  • I think you'll find dowie hasn't been paid off yet !!
  • Accoridng to the Times, Pards has two years left on his contract, my recollection when we were relegated it was re[ported that he took a salary cut to £800 K, if thats the case then compensation is around £1.6 mill if there is no compensation clause in his contract.
  • We were desperate to get AP at the time so I am sure his negotiators called all the shots with regard to his contract.
  • sums up the weekend, dog rolls around in shite when out for his walk.
  • he won't resign, he's too blooddy arrogant. The Board need to bite the bullet and sack him now.
  • jeeesus guiness where the fuk did you walk to, your dog must be fecking huge for a 10 hr walk
  • He is arrogant, Large. But to be a successful manager you probably need at least a little bit of that.

Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger , Venables, Keegan, Dalglish etc etc - none of them exactly noted for their humility.

The reason he won't go is more to do with money than arrogance, I am sure.

If someone offered him another job he'd be off like a shot. But given his recent record, nobody is going to head-hunt him right now.

So the board has to work out a formula.

    * They could cut him a deal (say six months money)

    * They could send him on gardening leave

    * They could sack him for incompetence and tell him 'see you in court'

    * They could fund a full pay-off by the sale of ZiZi

    * They could try and be clever and find some spurious act of misconduct like looking at porn on his office computer, or something.

There has to be a way.He cannot be allowed to hold the club to ransom by saying 'you can't afford to sack me' while we sink ever further into the relegation mire...

Scared of what? They sacked Dowie and Reed and further back Gritt so not sure where fear comes into it.
