Changing Your Manager

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
I have supported Pards even before he came to us. I, and it is recorded on here, called for him as soon as Curbs went. I have stood by him through thick and thin, mailny thin.
I am still not convinced that it is right for him to go right now but you have to look at other examples. The current obvious one is Spurs, ok not a 100% relevent comparrison maybe but it was clear to me that unless they made a change things were only going to go from bad to worse for some time. They changed and wow what a transformation.
With us, again, I just can no longer see how things can change under AP now, certainly not in the short/medium term. A new boss would help for a bit but unlike Spurs we are hardly in a posistion to bring in some sort of legendary figure ( and amongst pro's he is) as Harry are we?
How much to sack AP? £1m? Maybe more.....
We have £20m debt the BBC keep telling me, who could we afford? No one high profile, no one to give the players a lift/kick like Harry did. It would have to be an internal appointment. Are our current staff ready or indeed good enough? Kins etc.
Then again how ready and qualified were a certain AC & SG all those years ago?
What are we to do?
For once, I don't have an answer!

    ............

Has there been any "thick" under Pards?

In all seriousness right now I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel, under current management it's been two steps back and one forward, rather than two forward and one back. I appreciate that debt and high wages etc have forced Pard's hand with several players being sold from under him and there hasn't been the money or the players coming through to replace them. Personally I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt after last season, it didn't work out after a promising start but from Easter onwards we fell away and this season, other than a couple of blips, we've continued that poor form and there doesn't seem to be a point where I think things are going to improve.

If we get a manager in, I think it has to be soon before our recent form becomes a relegation battle.

Have you seen the league table? I'd say we're already in a relegation battle.
