Just been told we're not having one!!! Liberties!!!
Told we can each have £100 to spend on a night out (although we have to spend it first then give HR a receipt!), or, have £100 in our next pay-packet that will be taxed...
Mine was supposed to be at Detling 13th December some sort of James Bond Theme with Vodka Ice Bar, women serving drinks not wearing a great deal & Russian Cossack dancing etc, unfortunatley I have to work so cannot go :-(

Try the Irish bar on the main street opposite the famous tango bar.
Great atmosphere, lots of expats and locals, footy on the TV
Some Chinese gaff in watford (or outskirts) with a chinese elvis. Will give that a wide berth - probably end up with off-it and stop-shouting in The Lamb (voted best pub in london by visitors) and checking out some arthouse dancing in The Griffin....
It's my first Christmas with the company, but apparently it's rammed with 2000 people and last year's party cost £500k!! Apparently they also raffle two Porsches (year long leases).
Tiger Tiger, meal during the day then we have our own room hired out with a bar, managers and directors will have an informal one one evening a few days before we break up

In Buenos Aires Arthur?
There are 5 or 6 Irish bars but the one that sells the best draught Guiness (as of Dec 2007 when I was last there) is Kilkennys.
Reconquista 1000 is the address, that street being in the middle of downtown.
Can get busy with tourists but plenty of expats to have a good bit of football related banter
Hope this helps
Richard

Oh, and there's "snow" everywhere!
The Axemurderers in Sydenham
(and the "Social" at the Con Club on 13th Dec (hopefully)).
