Went out to our favourite Italian for a meal (and to avoid the football) last night. Restaurant was very quiet, just the two of us plus the owner and waiter so we sat at the bar and chatted.
Spooky thing number one: the waiter was playing football manager on his phone as Man U. Charlton came up as his next opponents (we lost 10-0, by the way...)
Spooky thing number two: the owner put our match on his computer as one to watch on Skysports website. Never used that before - it alerts you with a cheer if a goal is scored. So we knew we were losing. Then later on we were choosing tracks to play from Youtube. Without any suggestions from us, the owner chose 'Always look on the bright side of life'. I was busy explaining that this is rapidly becoming Charlton's anthem. Then we heard the Skysports cheer - I said that'll be 2-0 Ipswich, but no, it was our equaliser...
Must be nearly Halloween.
