Clutching at straws now but..

If Zabeel over the next few months do buy Liverpool, Everton Newcastle or West Ham can we sue them?? surley there would be some kind of compensation? To be given such access to the clubs books and dealings there must have been some sort of protection? Would they have had to pay a fee to us to explore us? Stupid probably and fully prepared to be sunk on this but worth a shout??

  • A few people claimed that if they pulled out once DD had started, then there would be a fee payable. Not heard it mentioned in last couple of days, though.

It's no different to making an offer for a house you can pull out at any time (Up to exchanging contracts). Zabeel don't have to pay us a brass farthing.
  • We could sue them as they said they wont buy an english club in the forseeable future!
  • so who pays our legal bills from due diligence?
  • There may be an upfront agreement that if the deal doesnt go through then the potential purchaser will pay a fee for the time and trouble suffered by the target company. Not likely to be a huge fee, if any, in this case, as the approach was welcomed by CAFC's board.
  • knowing our luck we are probably saddled with a nice legal bill now as well.
  • oi! cheer up you miserable bar steward or i'll sing CAFC constantly in your lughole all the way through the game tomorrow ;-)
  • I doubt Zabeel paid any fees, but it isn't unheard of for a potential buyer to pay a small deposit that gives them exclusivity during the DD.
