Assuming that all this actually happens. What do you think the strategy will be in order to get Charlton back into the Premiership. We all know that The Championship is not all that easy to get out of and having looked at QPR where modest investment in the team certainly doesn`t look as though promotion will be guarenteed, what route will Charlton take ? Seems a bit daft to hang around The Championship any longer than necessary when serious investment in the team would gain promotion soonest and provide springboard to move forward with the added money the Premiership provides. Can we expect big spending in january in an attempt to get up this season and further big signings in the summer if we don`t or is it more likely that we will buy "decent" Championship players and build slowly over two or three seasons. I know what I would prefer but really have no idea what will actually happen.....Over to you.

spend some money, make our intentions clear .....
buy some top quality... pack the valley out and buy that steel now its cheap and start developing the stadium....
do it with knobs on...
Come January I'd like to see a couple of decent mid-fielders come in and maybe another striker.
I'd like to see incentives to encourage more fans at home games.
New matchday catering.
Continued and improved investment in the academy.
I have read the posts here and thought on this before committing my thoughts to the forum. I now see it a little differently. In our current situation we shall either remain in mid table obscurity or do even worse but with financial stability that the take would bring we have the chance to return to the top level of football.
My remaining worry is how it will be done and the effect on our current players. We currently have a fragile mix of youth and experience, how will that youth view their future prospects if the club brings in expensive imports in January. However if the transition is done organically with care for the current squad together with a commitment to our youth policy and harnessed to an increased obligation to the local community then there is possibility that the future Charlton will retain the best of the past with the financial vigour it will need to succeed in the future.
Richard Murray and his fellow Directors are first of all Charlton supporters and our trust in them since leaving Selhurst Park has been rewarded, it is my view that we should continue with that trust for our future development.[/quote]
this is another view and idea......
hope you dont mind lancashire....
lets buy and destroy the league and have all the other teams trying to sue us because its not fair...

Mwaaa ha ha ha! Power,MONEY! MORE, MUST HAVE MORE!!!!! :-)
just to get a couple of back to back wins and id be happy..... to finally fulfil the dream of finishing the stadium and some proper class at the valley and a long term sound future.... to much guys too much....
now just to go completely ridiculous.... imagine if we got success and we had people coming up with bullshit stories about how they supported charlton in the bad times etc........
In fairness to Qpr I think they are in that handy kind of position now (tho the choice of Dowie has always baffled me),it is also fair to remember that they were certs for the drop last year but the ship was steadied and they made reasonable if unspectacular progress post takeover. We must remember this season is only ten games old nd has plenty to play for monied or not. With an injection there is absolutely no reason why the play-offs cannot be reached.
Don´t be ridiculous..Sheik Hamdans dad is worth $70bn by himself, 5bn is nothing to that family and most probably Zabeel is just there to invest Sheik Hamdans pocket money.
That doesn´t mean that they will spend for spendings sake, they want value for money.
Sorry Couldn't find anything bigger!! But you get the gist!!
its half nine at night here... I have a couple of drinks and ive got a bit excited.....
May be we could buy back Chris Iwelumo .....?
I would like to see one, maybe two players come in, no more than that. And if one of those is Darren Bent then fantastic (splashing a bit of cash would be justifed in that circumstance).
I think the team would look something like this
Weaver
New signing - Hudson - new signing - Youga
Ambrose - Bailey - ZZ - new signing
Varney - new signing
If the signings were decent that team would have a fairly decent chance of going up (if we can stay in touch until January). Also i'd assume the influx of money would inspire the current squad to up their game as well. I'd try and sign Shawcross from Stoke, kightly and ebanks-blake from Wolves, players like that. We need a team to get up first, then worry about the prem later.
