will be well worth looking at owning...back in The Prem with all that entails, plus the possibility of even bigger crowds than last time round.
Already established pubs and the likes of The Con and Liberal clubs will be well chuffed I've no doubt!
The Swan in Charlton Village has been up for sale for ages, they were about to be refurbished (euphemistically f*cked up) and turned into an Indian restaurant.
Still a long way off, though, and there's tough times ahead for yer local boozer what with credit crunchiness and other issues.
Next door to the ludicrous Lovell's Wharf development in Greenwich, the Pelton Arms is up for sale - the guv'nor there can't make any money out of it and can't wait until hundreds of yuppie flats open next door.
Personally I popped into the oak last night to watch the england game for the first time on a non match day. Sad state of affairs to see a once thriving pub be dead. I did say to the few locals that still go in that i hope someone will now snap that it up if this goes ahead! Could be a thriving business.

No, haven't you heard?
We've bought Stoke's Place in the prem for £65m. We are picking up their fixtures and vice versa
(that's a joke everyone)
Buying up Stoke's fixtures is just fine - as long as we don't buy that one of their unwanted players ......
;o)
One of the others is now no more than a glorified restaurant and drinkers are not really that welcome
before about 9:30 pm
The other is tiny, in the wrong place and sells only chemical beer.
Bloody credit crunch. Sad day.
Carrot crunching country is up Naaaritch way.
