Come on guys, lets not get ahead of ourselves, I'm happy about it if it comes off but lets all take a deep breath before we start spending money we dont have yet, if ever.
Mind you, I'm not as cynical as Rock Spectacle was last night in the Cons club, LOL

Bollocks to that...... lets bring in Ibrahimavich ;)
Going on realistic purcahes (ie players who'd possibly play in the Chamionship....), there are a few Prem players who've not had too many games that I think would do a good job for us. For example:
Riggott
Carlos Edwards
Ishmail Miller
Diomansy Kamara
Shittu
[cite]Posted By: Maglor[/cite]We need to buy a team of top championship players and prem players out of favour to get us up first then a team to stay up.
Exactly my thoughts. We wouldn't get any decent prem player straight away. I'd like to see us go after top championship players like Watson, Ebanks-blake, Ledley, Kightly, Doyle, Hunt, also Shawcross at Stoke isn't getting any games. Then if we went up, build from there.
Having said that though, its tricky because although we need players and there would obviously be new signings, if you make too many they'll take time to gel. A lot of the current side isn't bad at this level it just needs maybe 3-4 players. A top centre back, right back, winger and a striker at this level and that should be ok for the time being.
I think its importnat we secure two top level managers... Im thinking ericson and mourinho with assistant manager of curbishley......
then we move ahead with the signing of adriano coupled with the charlton hotel and leisure city to be developed between the station and the ground....
I also think a retractable roof should be our first priority prior to expanding the size of the stadium to ensure that we can keep the elements out in winter.....

Now that we've beaten Ipswich ....... would Pards be prepared to break up a winning team .........?
Wow, I hope you lot aren't going to be disappointed. Even if the deal does go ahead, there's no guarantee that our new owners would be splashing the cash like there's no tomorrow. They will be as aware as anyone that as soon as a club gets a bit of money the prices they get quoted for players goes up ridiculously, as every other club tries to get their hands on their cash. At the same time, it's very easy for wage bills to go through the roof as players and agents start to get greedy(er). The best defence against this is quite simply not to jump in with both feet, but to very carefully spend a little at a time, never giving in to salesmen with glints in their eyes. As an investment company they will know this.
I'd be as pleased as anyone if we started to put together a team of stars (assuming we have the long-term backing to support it). All I'm saying is don't get carried away with the chicken counting.
Comments

Weaver
Semedo--Hudson--Primus--Basey
Ambrose--Bailey--Racon--Bouazza
D. Bent
Varney
In other words buy Primus and Bent for the 1st eleven I wouldn't buy too many others at this stage.
ok well lets buy anyone we can as long as they cost over 15 million ; )
That'll do.
FFS the take over has not even happened.
Riggott
Carlos Edwards
Ishmail Miller
Diomansy Kamara
Shittu
plus I'd go after Watson at Palace

Daniel Alves, Terry, Lucio, Evra
Messi, Gerrard, Kaka, Ronaldo
Rooney and David Villa
I'd certainly have Bent on the bench.
