For the benefit for those in shock please post here!!!

Just typical, for the first time in ages I've not checked the Charlton life or CAFC websites and something actually happens!

Fro the benefit of those who quite cant' work out what's going on could someone please explain:

A) How likely is it that this deal will actually happen?

B) How much is this deal worth?

c) Sort of money might be made available for player purchases?

Comments

  • a) Seems nearly there, just legalities to finalise
    b) not been said
    c) not been said
  • i have no idea
  • Interesting days, weeks and months ahead!
  • It's all very exciting but I have to admit to being a little worried as well.

    A) 90% sure....It ought just to be a formality

    B) A pittance, say £50m

    C) As much they like really, money will not be an issue..Consider that Sheik Hamdans dad have a personal income of $4.5bn each year and personal assets worth around $70bn, US Dollars that is.
  • my initial reaction is, I'm not sure I welcome this, however the existing board don't seem to be willing/able to take us further than we are now (no disrespect to them) - that isn't everything though. I just hope we can retain our character and identity. Success is only worth having if you've earned it. Now its off to a boot fair in sunny thamesmead to sell off our post move crap..
  • I last logged on yesterday morning having been doing work around the house and then went out last night. I wake up this morning to this news. I thought this was a wind up. I must watch Sky Sports News now.
  • I'm in a similar position to you, Crazy, I had no idea about what was going on until late last night. It all seems a bit vauge at the moment, I'm not going to get completely excited until the money is in the bank.
  • A) How likely is it that this deal will actually happen? - - - Very

    B) How much is this deal worth? - - - Around £50million + debts wiped out!

    c) Sort of money might be made available for player purchases? - - - No idea!

  • Will we get discount on petrol with a charlton season ticket? But seriously will they want to move the ground post 2012 and redevelop around the Valley!!
  • Why move from the Valley? we already have planning permission to develop the ground to 40000.
  • i cant let myself beleive it until it happens yesterday i was in heaven, today just floating lording it over the yid army not saying we are going to be bigger than you soon telling them we could be as close to 4th as you are close to the bottom if this comes off

please let there be no snags

i really can not believe it and do you know what we really do fecking deserve a crack at this sort of oportunity we have been a well run and maintained club for years and was so often touted as the business plan for a succesful club, now lets feed at the head table and eat with kings and queens

I am chuffed that it means we no longer have to worry about selling players, but i have always hated this Chelsea style of buying success. Now am I about to become a hypocrite?

I just hope we buy a couple of defenders (to replace the loanees) a midfielder and a striker in January (not megastars I would settle for top Championship).

It's not so much buying success anymore, clubs need money just to compete in the Premier League.

We had 6 seasons in a row in which we were comfortably in mid table, to do that now you need to spend a lot more.
