Hi guys..City fan here and I just wanted to comment on some stuff posted on your forum. We had to study this stuff at our place last month.
First, if it´s true that "due diligence" is the next phase it´s most likely that a deal will be struck as it´s mainly a period when the accountants look at the books etc, unless something is amiss the buyers can´t really void the proposed deal without paying a compensation in most cases.
Second, this Zabeel investments is not a major financial player in the Gulf but that´s not something to be dismayed about because what´s important is who bankrolls the company and the Gulf financial media is pointing the finger at Sheik Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum....Or the crown prince of Dubai which means that he´s minted and will be given increasingly more money by his dad (Sheik Maktoum of Dubai) as he will be given more and more responsabilities with time. I can´t confirm that they are correct though.
Third and finally, I have seen a lot of the same concerns that we had but the general way these cats operate is very long term, they never worry about short term stuff like quarterly profit statements or even elections..And they are very keen on clubs with good youth academies as they hope to jumpstart the local football by implanting well developed coaching methods etc.
Good luck with everything lads...You deserve this as much as we did.
Thats a brilliant post MCFC. I hope you are right. Respect to City fans for your unwaivering support of your club through the bad times. Lets hope the future is truely bright for both of our clubs.
in five years time will people complain that Charlton, Man City and QPR are dominating the Premier league, buying up all the good players and not giving the little clubs like Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool a chance?
