Scored one, made two according to the report.

I know i'm his uncle but he looked outstanding he set up two goals that even i could have scored the first was a two yard tap in and then a corner he put on Dicksons head with him practically standing on the line. He fully deserved his goal he worked really hard and passed superbly. But i'm his uncle so would like the thought s of others who were there. I thought Jack clark was also superb at the back and Sam long had a steady game Scott wagstaff was really busy and played really well. I must say though in my uneducated opinion Martin Christensen wouldn't have got into our lifers team on saturday after his performance.
  • Thanks Uncle. I'm sure we'll see Jonjo back in the first team squad sooner rather than later.
  • I saw the reserves a month ago and they were terrible Jonjo included but so much improved tonight not so many long balls and at times played some really good football that Watford just couldn't live with
  • lets hope so bing, he is a class act get him in before he feckos orf to someone more deserving of him!

I think that are breaking him in gently and probably quite rightly too i know i always want to see him in the team and he wants to be in it but he's still only 16 and he's got plenty of time. A couple of run outs before the end of the season would be good but who knows

There aint no one more deserving. They are good to him and he really likes it here

Dont worry he'll get a chance one day he's just got to enjoy it when he does and then wait for the next one. Yeah it was a really good day i really enjoyed it i ache like hell now but thats my fault for not remembering i'm 42 not 22 lol. Cant wait for the next one
  • top man, i wish i was as brave as you, well actually i am shit at footie so wouldn't bother, but will be there to support hopefully without ginger beard! (2 days before my babies due date, never happens tho 1st babies are hardly ever early!)
  • Uncle, i actually feel this little spell out the side will do JonJo some good. From an early age, i gather he has excelled, and he got some great plaudits when he first appeared in the first team. It would be very easy for him, and any other talented kid his age, to have a feeling that everything just comes naturally.

It doesn't. Every level you get to means you have to keep working harder. All the top players are normally the ones that work hardest on the training ground, day in, day out. This will be JonJo's career for the next twenty years, i've never met the lad but i'm sure with grounded family around him such as yourself he has a great attitude. But a little wider reinforcement right at the beginning that its a tough profession, nothing comes easy, and you have to always keep striving for that bit more won't do him, or any other kid in his position, any harm with a long career ahead.

I long for him to be a real success story for us, and i think if he goes the right way about it, he really will be.
  • Not sure he's been dropped into oblivion! The lad is only 16 after all and we've got some of the more creative senior pro's coming back to fitness now. The lad should be protected, better he's saved until he's 18/20 and still playing when he's 34 than have him thrown in too early and burnt out when he's 28. He obviously needs to be in and around the squad but not too much too soon, especially given the lumps some sides in this division will kick out of him.
  • AFKA It is doing him good you are right. Lets face it he's still learing he's trade he'll get there in the end and as you and exiled have said he'll have a much longer career having been protected a bit. on another note thanks for saturday i really enjoyed it and it was nice to meet you and everyone else. I'll be back in training soon once the pains have gone
  • At least he's playing and enjoying himself, good for jj.

He could have played for Ipswich, then Gumbo could have been our match winner, not theirs?

Good to meet you Uncle ..... some neat turning and short passing on the floor!
  • Shelvey is away with England under 17s towards the end of this month as they have a 3 game qualifying tournament so he won't be in the first team for a few games yet.

  • Oggy it was a real pleasure to meet you (and find out your age) lol my ole woman thought it was funny. You played some neat stuff yourself think we'll be much better next time
  • Glad Jonjo is still enjoying his stuff. Be interested to know if he feels that Pardew has managed his introduction into the team and then dropping well. Sounds like the boy hasn't lost any confidence.
