It's a home match. We're playing Ipswich not Man U.
And maybe the boo-ers too.
Let's all get behind the team from the start. The whole ground.
And that's our job, whether we're winning or losing. Ipswich always bring a sell-out away following and the place should be rocking.
Right, the team. We looked really good against Reading. Why?
Because we were set up to go for it.
2 fast fullbacks, with Moo2 & Sam complimenting each other. Varney & Bouazza marauding, we had movement and pace aplenty. Sure, we always looked liked we could concede but we also looked like we could score at will - and Reading, one of the best teams in our league, couldn't live with that.

We've got to go for it- and not let Super Kev score!

but we won't though will we.
if five minutes in we don't look like rolling all over Ipswich, then the far corner (top left if looking from the pitch) of the north upper will be cursing and booing like they usually do in their incoherent, borderline tourettes, manner. the centre of the north upper will do their bit for a while and then begin, gradually to join in.
I hate that it is like that, but no amount of exhortation to be positive will make any bloody difference.

That's the most sensible and refreshing post I've read all morning, Sco.
moo2 primus and basey in the side because imo they the best of what we have to offer.
scrap the out and out wingers, because they just aren't delivering, and keep the midfield narrow (with varney running the channels).
thought about putting semedo rb and holland in midfield, but think moo2 could overlap and offer something going forward leaving semedo covering any gaps left.
Rationale: I'd not put in Bassey simply because of pace. Ipswich has it, he does not, so like it or not, you're stuck with him. Crainey, I think is improving a lot and his distribution was greatly improved. One more chance. Primus will be fit.
For the wingers I think it's a case of do we drop any of them for Ambrose or Varney. None of them played well last night so again I'm going with pace. Everyone suggesting playing central midfielders out wide should recall that we've tried this a few times with consistently terrible results. I liked the idea of playing narrow, but you can't have 4 midfielders - if you're going to do this you need to play three and an extra striker IMO. ZZ comes into midfield to add a bit of attacking threat and quality ball.
Up front Toddy looked handy and has a bit of height. I'd pair him with Dicko. I figured Dickos pace and rawness might mix well with Toddy's guile (and lack of pace) . He might be the kind of guy to really shake things up and do something random
Bench - Eliott (obviously), Semedo (cover the full backs and in case we need to dig in), Gray (in case Toddy runs out of steam), Sam (cover Varney or release him to play up in case Dicko doesn't work out) Ambrose
Maybe similar to the 4-5-1 from yesterday but with Varney and Bouazza pushing further forward and not so close to the touchline. Would mean Cranie and Basey playing deeper and Bailey and ZZ doing loads of midfield work.
lot's of variations before Saturday, but I guess for the next few games most of us would go with Pardew's starting selection from Saturday plus Semedo keeping his place - the main debate being about Varney's strike partner.

You read it here first ; - )
The only players of real quality we have are Holland, ZZ & Toddy. Ones not fit, ones 34 and the other one just had major knee surgery...
yeah that!
And maybe the boo-ers too.

Not been impressed with Sam, not sure if we should move Varney out wide, would consider playing Yassin or ZZ there.
Semedo hasn't really done anything wrong, but its so hard to fit him in.
Would like to see Shelvey involved.
I like Todorov, but is he fit enough?
Dickson needs a chance at some point, he'll go out just to score and nothing else. Maybe something we need.
