  • used to years back early to mid eigthies

All gone now moved house and left a load of stuff up in the loft gutted
  • Yep, mine goes back earlier than all these.I started it as a kid about twelve in 1958 and kept going for about 10 years. Most match reports and pictures from the press. One page with just a small report of Johnnie Summers death on it with a black band surround (which I put on it myself). I have also got in it the original Mercury report on our 11-1 thrashing at Villa. The headline read 'MOURN CHARLTON: HOW PATHETIC THEY WERE' I still look at it occasionaly .
Great stuff, football is never as exciting as when you were a kid, riding my bike to the ground parking it behind a house in Floyd Road for a couple of pence and walking down and soaking up the atmosphere. Great times.

    Excellent stuff.

It would be great if you could find a way of posting some of it on here.
  • [cite]Posted By: Ketman[/cite]Yes I did, it's in my Mum's loft I'd be too embarrassed to scan It & put it on here though.

you sure its a football one and not a "when robbie left take that" scrap book like i've got ?
  • [cite]Posted By: Clem_Snide[/cite]Yep 85-86 promotion season.

Still have it. Almost all the clippings are from the mecury.

    It is in mint condition.

sounds like you have nicked mine !! Only one I ever done and it's brilliant.
  • YES!! Did it for 3 seasons - the first by sheer coincidence the first ever promotion year I ever saw (75) I had no idea when I started it that year it would be a good un! Still have the books in my loft - great coverage from the Kentish Independent - great shots by Tom Morris.

And that Preston game is equal with the Sunderland final as my all time Charlton highlight. I think I stayed on the pitch for hours, taking home huge chunks of turf to plant in our garden!

"You lot are gonna love this!! I kept a millwall scrapbook for the 88/89ish season, i went to more millwall games than charlton around that time with me old man!! Never did keep a charlton one tho!!"

And you think the Gingerism abuse was bad. Stone him.

Never kept a scrap book but do have a two montages of tickets (play off signed by Sasa, 2 - 0 in the snow signed by kim grant plus signed programme from same game signed by whole squad, my article in the Observer, my share certificate and a voting slip from the SD election plus signed photos of Bartram and Matt Tees.

Do have a house full of A4 designs for new kits. Henry jnr has done all the Prem clubs and is now doing Seria A.
