I think this is a real dilemma. To me Holland is what Pards says, a captain on the pitch and his influence for good should not be under-played. I also think he's still got plenty in the tank at 34 and why not. On the other hand ZZ has some real quality and goal scoring threat about him. If Pards truely is reverting to 4-5-1 especially away from home, then my initial thoughts to play both would definitely be my choice. At home, we may stay playing 4-4-2, in which case I could see a midfield of Bouazza, Holland Bailey and ZZ (instead of Sam). If he did play that midfield, I would like to see the Right Back able to bomb on and support the attack. Maybe we are therefore back to playing Moo2?
If I really had to chose between Holland and ZZ, I'd probably play ZZ at home and Holland away.
I'm a real Holland hater. I think he spends a lot of time and energy charging around with no obvious purpose. We're attacking and is he bursting into the box? if we're defending is he putting in the last tackle? In both cases the answer is no, but I can see him running around, I'm just not sure what he's up to. That said, he's been great this season. I think Matt is very much a player that works according to what he needs to do. This is something that is often attributed to so-called lazy players - like Dennis, for example, but in actual fact i think applies more to someone like Holland, despite the fact that he's obviously always working. He's in the mix a lot more when he's under pressure and I think a lot of his supporters miss this.
Anyway, in summary I'd switch the team around a bit and give people a rest. It'll keep Holland operating at the top of his game and will allow players to rest up. We've got 6 decent central midfielders (not including Dambrose) so it's the one area that we have a bit of depth in.
