    Yeah, disappointing.

Boo the players! Sack the Board! Pards Out!

    ;o)
  • hello guys ....

if anyone has a link or knows whats what please put it in here.....

    cheers...
  • Charlton: Weaver; Moutaouakil, Basey, Fortune, Hudson; Shelvey, Holland, Bailey, Bouazza; Gray, Varney.

Subs: Elliot, Youga, Semedo, Ambrose, Dickson.

Preston: Lonergan; Jones, Hart, Mawene, St Ledger; Sedgwick, McKenna, Chaplow, Nicholson; Mellor, Parkin.

Subs: Neal, Carter, Whaley, Wallace, Hawley.

    Referee: C Oliver
  • So Lloyd Sam out and Shelvey in the only change.
  • Considering all the changes this year a strong bench
  • That's a decent team, although I thought Pards would've gone for the pacy youga instead of the more stoic Basey.

I see Pards does listen to me(!) .......I was advocating Shelvey in place of Sam, when most were saying put Ambrose in.
Got the Basey/Youga one wrong though.

    ;o)
  • Looks a strong bench and a good team.

A strong looking centre of midfield depending on how we line up. Think this will be important away from home.
  • Is there any radio commentary online?
  • I'm not sure that Ambrose is fit enough to start, but I think he'll play some part in the game. At least having Shelvey means we should get good delivery from the right.

  • Evening late night Aussies, evening all.
    Looks a strong line up.
    Who goes wide right, Shelvey?
    Come on you reds
  • at the moment you can listen to BBC Kent on the web...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/kent/local_radio/

But I think they may turn off the Charlton game at 3pm.

    Worth a pop though.
  • Sounds like it might be the Gillingham game online on BBC Kent.
  • Midfield five with varney wide I reckon
  • Sounds like a 4-5-1 to me.

Varney and Bouazza on the wings with a midfield of Bailey, Holland and Shelvey.

Hope not as I'd like to see a confident Varney continue up front with Gray.

    Or can Shelvey play wide??
  • Hahaha great minds Fish, great minds
  • No chance. 4-4-2 is the way. Why change anything after last week?
  • I see 'The Beast' goes straight into the Preston team, after just signing.

Now that's one man mountain, all 17 stone of him.
  • doesnt look good for commentary.....
  • I'd prefer 442 but perhaps Pards is being cautious. Preston are on a roll.
He said on the OS he wanted a 'positive result' and seemed to suggest that he'd be happy with a point.

  • Probably the way to go away from home
  • Who's the beast?
  • Looks like 4-4-2 at least initially, but Pardew does like to keep the formation flexible. On the evidence of last week Gray and Varney still aren't gelling as a partnership, so I wouldn't want to see too much tinkering as it'll slow that process up.
  • Aren't gelling?! Did you watch the Reading game?
  • I'd play Shelvey as a 'narrow' winger (like the old Graeme Stuart role), possibly with his minder, Holland alongside.

That way Moo2 gets plenty of defensive cover and Shelvey perhaps sits when Moo2 gets forward.
Shelvey can take corners and get forward where he can, but it also leaves a channel for Varns to go for.

Ambrose to come on last 25 if we're chasing the game.

Also - we'll score from a corner today. You heard it here first .......(!)

Jon Parking who has just signed for PNE from Stoke and weighs in at some 17 stone.
  • [cite]Posted By: Valley11[/cite]Who's the beast?

Jon Parkin - just signed from Stoke City
  • First goal and goal scorer then chaps.

    I'll go Shelvey- free kick

Yep, but I'm talking about the Gray/Varney partnership, not the rest of the team.
  • was really hoping my luck of coverage was going to continue...

anyone got any ideas on commentary???
