Weaver's penalty technique

Did the same for all three - slightly off line as it was kicked, then rushing towards the opponent. Clearly the way he has trained himself to do it. Now that he's been pulled up for it, will he have to change his technique??

  • what about starting 2 /3 yards behind the line then moving up to the line maybe seeing a goalkkeper with forward momentum could be off putting.

He was behind the line for each one.

I thought it was very harsh, as one foot was still on the line as it was kicked, one only a yard off - find me a keeper who doesn't do that!

northstandsteve - you are supposed to be oon the line, so that is probably out of the question as well.
  • Van Der Saar & Cech are usuallly about a foot from the edge of the six yard box by the time they hit the ground. Never seen them pulled for it...
  • The lino had probably been bollocked in his previous game for missing a blatent charge off the line and was extra watchful. Also the Ref was probably picked up for missing a blatent penalty and was determined not to be marked down again.
  • Well, he missed a stonewall penalty in the Reading game - when Varney was bundled over as he was about to shoot.

Probably afraid to give a 4th penalty in the same game. No matter, we scored straight after, anyway.
