I met reamsofverse at half time

edited August 2008 in General Charlton
somehow got talking to this massive bloke on the North Lower concourse with my mate at half time, first thing he did was introduce himself as 'reamsofverse' Eddie May's son without knowing at all that I even had a computer!!, then proceeded to be quite possibly the most negative bloke I've ever met about everything Charlton !.

I was almost suicidal after 10 mins with him......sorry mate if you are reading this, but I really wonder why you bothered with the '10 hour round trip' you must've mentioned at least 10 times...

For what it's worth, my take on yesterday...I thought we played pretty well, must've seen a different game to others cause I thought Swansea were very poor. Was sat next to a Swansea fan who was actually quite a nice bloke.

Though Racon was MOM, all the back 4 were very solid couldn't fault either Hudson or Fortune at all, Thomas is still quality in my book and was one of the better players, Varney had plenty of energy and apart from his goal, Gray did nothing for me.

All in all, a good start and if we can add another couple of players this week then I think this division is very very open.

  • thought the swans were alright; really thought it was quite an entertaining game with 2 teams trying to pass their way round the pitch rather than the watford/weavels way of just lumping it forward.
only 1 real bad tackle (2 footed straight red) but, apart from that, afair game.
  • I think reams has been barred from this site so I doubt he'll read this.

It wasn't a straight red, he showed him a yellow first.
  • why has reams been barred? eltham addicks account of him had me in stitches! sounds like comic book guy from the simpsons!
  • Just do a site search under Users for Reams - That'll keep you occupied for a while!! It was funny at first then it all got a bit....well read and you will see!
  • The Great Man has his own website these days. I went on for a little sneaky look the other day - as this place was suffering some sort of shutdown - and he was taking someone to task for daring to have a different opinion to his own and questioning why this person always seemed to be digging at him. I desperately tried to give him the benefit on many occassions when he came on here - but the man is clearly suffering from paranoid delusions!

Sorry reams if you're reading this - but it's just my opinion!
    ;o)

Don't worry, he reads this site.

Reassuring to hear he is the same in real life as he is on the internet. At least he's not on some sort of wind up.
  • Forgive and forget I say.
  • I post on his site quite a bit. I don't agree with his negativity but he's entitled to his opinion and having alternative views keeps you on your toes. The amateur Freud in me does wonders sometimes where his angst stems from but although I've never met him, I respect his on line honesty. Reams, if you are reading this, chill a bit mate. Laugh and the world laughs with you etc etc.

I think that his negativity was a bit much for this site to cope with and that was probably why in the end he was banned, although there may have been some behind the scenes stuff of which we were not aware. After all this is a site which, even with Golfie sounding forth, that wants to find the positives in the clubs situation even though sometimes that is quite hard......:-)

If you get Reamsy on a good day, you can have some interesting discussion.
He won't agree with you of course! - but then that's what different opinion is all about.

I think he was banned because he was something of a Walter Mitty character. He definitely had delusions of grandeur, regularly used to offer people out on here and had an extremely short memory when it came to name-calling. Add to that the fact that he seemed to have some bizarre hidden agenda about getting the board sacked, along with every post he made being the equivalent of the three silly old ****ers sat behind me yesterday at the front of the West Lower (went in there for the first time in years because I took my nephew and he wanted to sit close to the pitch - nearly blew my stack after one of them coated Thomas off when he failed to pick out a seventy yard cross-field pass) and you have a recipe for a banning.

Golfie's a miserable git, but he isn't a broken record - you couldn't get a fag paper between the posts Reams used to chuck up after each defeat last year.
  • I would say that he has definitely read this thread, judging from this!

1-0 up at half time - are you happy?
