My View (As a non-fanatic)

edited August 2008 in General Charlton
As regular members know, whilst I support CAFC, I am not what you would call a die-in-the-wall fan(unlike my eldest son!) Here's my take on today for what it's worth:
I didn't want to go today, rather have played golf or watched the Test Match. Well the weather saw to those options.
Football on August 9th is just stupid IMO. I haven't even had my summer holiday yet!
Chirpy jnr jnr didn't fancy the rain but Chirpy Jnr - the 110% CAFC in the family had been looking forward to today for weeks - Nutter!
Anyway the two of us went. Great start but to be honest after 20 mins my attention had been lost and I put my radio on to listen to TMS chat and then 5Live. After the goal I thought we would win by 4 or 5 and piss the league by Easter! Alas it all went flat.
2nd half I read the Review/Handbook. Nothing inspired me.
Anyway, we got 3 points and kept a clean sheet. Better start than the last few seasons. I'm off to Kos for 2 weeks next Saturday and expect to return with a little more enthusiasm etc.

  • I didn't want to go either, but duty calls, too early in August and with the Olympics and a very very messy trip to the Oval already under my belt this week my attention was held elsewhere

Well done to the gridlock traffic planners in and around the local area, the weather was truly shocking, huddled under a gazebo outside the anchor after the game, it really felt like a proper English summer's day

Still we won, and that's better than the battering Scunthorpe handed out to us this time last year.

Well done to the boys, looking forward to a trip to "three sides only" Vicarage road next Saturday
  • Apparently the traffic was fooked because of a broken down vehicle on the tunnel approach - that backed-up and screwed everything else...
