You can tell how excited they are from this:

I think we'll have this feeling back soon - well i hope we will anyway!

  • Quite enjoyed reading that, although it does make me nervous because I know how they feel from our own experiences in the Premiership and they could well do us over!
  • Certainly enthusiastic and looking forward to the new season, using the example of Christmas eve as the similie but didn't say a whole load about the players, formation or tactics, just that they'll be excited to be playing in the CCC.

Looks like a tricky match first up - we perhaps need to concentrate on keeping their fans quiet first and then moving on from there.
  • I'm hoping it will be a tricky afternoon for the home fans and will say it'll have to be something fairly catastrophic to keep us quiet tomorrow. To have spent the last 2 years in the bottom 2 divs with false dawn after false dawn you get to think it will never happen again (not in my 40 years have I been so optomistic) As for our style of play, we like to pass teams to death and almost averaged 2 passes for every one of our opponents last season and loved to attack. We're certainly not a keegan kamakaze style team but we do attack in numbers but with the formation we use it's also possible for our players to then defend in numbers. I found last season an absolute joy to watch football style wise and the pre seasons this year show it'll be more of the same. If we're still not good enough for the CCC then so be it but I can't see us going down and I also think playing a side like Charlton will be a good yardstick for us. You are certainly an established championship side at worst and looking from the outside have a premier infastructure.

As for keeping us quiet we're coming to enjoy and I doubt we'll be quiet in the services on the tubes and trains even if we are going to go down in our return to div 2 (old money of course)

Lets hope the day brings out the best in both sides and at the very least an enjoyable day out at the football is had by all with a sit up and take notice away win ;-)

If you want players to watch or be aware of I'd suggest Bodde in the middle of the park (6) serran at the back (26) and scotland (9)

I hope Pards is reading ;)
  • No doubt the managers round the div will have done their hoimework on us but identifying what needs to be done and then having the tools to do the job is another matter. Bigger, faster, stronger, hungrier tomorrow, It's been our mantra all pre season ;-) I can't see Martinez building this side just to make up the numbers and the team spirit seems to be absolutely amazing which I can't say for a Swans side since Toshack took us to the top of the first over 25 years ago. tomorrows game for us is absolutely massive in terms of where we've been for the past 24 years and where we're going.
  • Other than today and in the return fixture good luck...

The Championship is a very physical league as we discovered last year, but also very level - there don't appear to any sides that are head and shoulders better than the rest and if last season is anything to go by, having a united, hungry squad with "team spirit" might be better than having a team with one or two stars and a few journeymen.
