just looked at the squad numbers and size of the squad for the forthcoming and it has to be said looking at It we are bang in trouble. if ZZ goes we will hardly have a recognizable starting eleven I am all for bringing the kids through but all at once could be dangerous. I did notice the no 4 shirt still available so a signing may be oj the horizon. In terms of the squad though it is woeful

can't say i could name many of Hull or Stoke's team!
The one thing that worries me more than anything (and Im not that bothered, we aint going up we aint going down) is that selling ZZ at the same time that Ambrose is out, I cant see where any goals atre coming from other than the front two.
And I dont feel that the pressure on Gray and Varney is fair because well basically they arent good enough to score enough goals to carry the midfield.
Cue, stop talking rubbish we're gonna win the league posts...
I have tried pointing this out over the past couple of months, but nobody seemed to listen, now with 3 days to go before the season kicks off people are finally waking up to the fact that we are in the do do.
I think that's a very fair point.
that's a pretty poor argument. 3 from one club, 2 from another.
An average football fan would be more likely to name the likes of Weaver, Holland, Thomas, ZZ, Ambrose, Gray, than the likes of Bryan Hughes and Danny Higginbottom. Ococha barely played either.
Names count for nothing though.

Golfie I am totally with u mate but it does appear that as soon as u say something againest club certain parties want to shot you down or dismiss it so much so people are getting cheesed off with the site because should u raise a point they just want to snipe at u
If its balanced, then i see no problem. I agree with your original point, looking at the squad i think its very fair to believe we look thin on the ground.
If however, it appears that the same people only seem to participate when it comes to digging out the club, moaning about this that and the other, then it is perfectly understandable that others rise to it.
Just because others have a more balanced view, or less demanding in what they expect, or simply can't stand people constantly knocking their club, does not mean they are looking through rose-tinted glasses.
I'm not surprised 'people are getting cheesed off with the site' as you say, its a very busy site now with a lot of people, and you can't please all the people all the time. Certainly the amount of traffic we're getting of late suggests people are looking here for some reason, and i like to think its a positive one.
But remember, no one is forcing anyone to post here and there is a lot of choice these days to cater for what you want if its not for you.
spot on AFKA
I don't really care if people think I'm a rose tinted glasses wearing tosspot (See most of the crowd nod there heads) but I'm quite happy to defend my view, and if needs be admit I'm wrong or be set straight. But the people who come on here day in day out to have a constant dig are tedious, never back there moans up, and usually hit and run.
Give me NSS/Weegie moaning instead of Golfie, at least with Steve and Weegie you can debate the issues.
You're entitled to your opinon, i'm listening to it and taking some of it on board for example, I take your point that perhaps they do have players that I have heard of - I couldn't think of any off the top of my head, but you have reminded me of a few, but I was like that a lot last season and didn't know who was playing for the oppo half the time, but i do remember on many occasions last season we were playing teams and people on here commented that they hadn't heard of some of their players, and I only plucked those 2 teams out as they were the ones promoted.
My point was, that you dont necessarily need big name players to do well and I think its a bit unfair to put down the lads we've got at the moment before they've even kicked a competitive ball. I'm not sniping at anyone, i'm just offering a different opinion.
Surely people write on here for a debate, not threads and threads with everyone sharing the same opinion?
Lose the argument and resort to personal abuse as per normal. 2 - 0 to me then : - )
Now that is funny
It is inevitable that people will disagree. At the moment I'm annoying people because I defend Fortune when people dig him out. I also annoy people by defending Curbs when people say he is the reason we are where we are today.
Without differences of opinion there wouldn't be a forum at all!
What I think is important though is trying to remain polite to other posters even if they disagree with you. Sometimes we all fall down on that.
Family is he ??
I'm also concerned about our comparitive lack of physical presence.
I can see us conceding from set pieces even if we out football teams in open play.
Now that is funny[/quote]Such a wonderful man, where do u go to get your ego massaged the same place as tango man
As for the Curbs stuff, that is annoying ;0)
Don't think they will fall down on enthusiasm or endevour or even skill BUT the physical aspect of the season could do for them. However, I'd still rather sree them in, giving it a go, than wasters like Faye,Bent etcetc
I agree. We've got some decent players, some pace and in terms of physique we have Hudson, Youga gets stuck in as does Semedo but would love to see a couple of strong defenders and a Kinsella type come in to protect the kids if nothing else.
Mind you I think Basey and Shelvey can look after themselves.
No, I just think he is harshly judged. He got blamed for a few of El Kak's rickets unfairly for instance when they played together.
He has a languid style which some interpretas lazy and disinterested but I disagree with that and think he is as committed as anybody.
People forget he played with a broken toe without painkillers.
You don't do that if your'e lazy and disinterested.
