Hey, some of us love the misery. . . .
i love the misery and depression!!
i did say when people were happy that curbs left that we'd never have it as good again but i didn't think we'd rewind the years this quickly to revisit obscurity !!
i'm in the expect the worse and anything else is a bonus camp but there are some reasons to be happy , we'll get a season or two to watch jonjo and i really do think gray and varney will come good for us up front
i'm not so keen on the likes of basey and youga not convinced by either
but as long as we can finish above palace i'll be less miserable;-(
[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]so who have we palyed then ? FFS being positive is one thing but Brighton are the only team who are actually in the god dam league and a division below us.
I did say i was adding to AFKA's positives so therefore i was putting a positive spin on things. It could be worse............we could be losing these friendlies.
AFKA's epistle & BigStemarra's are absolutely bang on.
Even the Liverpool Kop sing, " With hope in your heart ......."
We follow Charlton for the rollercoaster ride, to go with our mates and to consumate our affliction.
No doubt many of us have seen it all before - the pendulum swings one way and then swings back.
Keep the faith, folks - and even when things seem a bit bleak, it's only a matter of time (providing you live long enough, lol) until it comes round again.
I always remember a couple of fabulous Div 2 seasons under Lennie the Legend. We were broke, down to 13 senior Pro's & a bunch of kids - despite all the odds & often no money to pay the players, we not only staved off bankruptcy but we spent most of the season tucked in 6th place. The next season, we won promotion after losing our ground - from September, every match was an away match.
So what's the problem - if anything, we'll finally see what Pards & the squad are made of.
Meanwhile, I'm quietly looking forward to this season. Even if we lose Boogieman & perhaps Thomas or somebody, I think the squad's got a tightness & hunger about it and we are going to have a better season than many expect.
After all, I'm Oggy, with the rose-tinted specs - what else do you expect me to say .......?
;o)

brilliant.. oggy=legend ;-)
everytime i read an oggy post i find myself getting getting slightly optimistic then i remember i'm a miserable git and i always fear the worst;-(
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Lets concentrate on the future, and all move forward, TOGETHER.
Top post AFKA, you summed up pretty much everything that I feel. Come rain or shine I still support the team and I am still optimistic. We have good youngsters, some Prem quality players, great backroom staff and a successful - been there before - manager. I think we'll do alright this season, whoever else we have to sell (and we will sell two or three). Live with it and lets get behind the team.
Good post AFKA. Our season does'nt revolve around whether Bougy stays or goes. We've lost better players than him and still got on with it. Maybe it will give someone else an opportunity to impress. I m still looking forward to this season starting, and no matter who's playing we should all get behind them.

I dont really care if majid goes atleast we know where we are.
i have my concerns with Gray and Varney i dont think they are good enough but so what lets see what happens.
Oohaah - congrats on being the first .........(!)
;o)
All we need is for the players to give it their best shot - and the crowd right behind them!
we have been and seen worse
