Blind football

Pretty amazing really.

Apparently it's the complete opposite to normal football as the referees have good normal vision.

On a bit of a tangent, years ago I played in an indoor six-a-side league and we played against a deaf team. It was one of the weirdest games I've ever played. All you could hear was our team shouting etc and these fellas seemed to just be ghosting around the pitch in total silence and were virtually impossible to pick up as they never called for the ball. However, their vision - in every sense - was superb and they absolutely murdered us!!!

Just think of the fun you could have sitting in the crowd with a small rattle...

There is a couple of deaf teams playing in the herts Sunday leagues, they have 2 people with flags behind the goal to signal when the referee has blown his whistle. Pretty decent sides in the lower leagues apparently.
