  • Not sure I'd disagree with your lineup: As long as it's the Barnes that played for Liverpool, rather than the one who played for us.
  • clyde best must get in
  • just ones that come off top of my head.

    feel free to better mine.
  • Who was the Keeper who was at Gillingham then Blackburn?
  • I'd think Shaun Newton deserves a mention.

Jason Brown was the other keeper.

I'd have Mou2 in above Sankofa or even Shaun Newton used to be a half decent right back.

I bet you could also make a half decent team of black players that came through our youth system, although I'm struggling with the centre midfield (haven't included Defoe and J.Lloyd Samuel)

    GK - Randolph
    RB - Primus
    CB - Rufus
    CB - Elliott
    LB - A.Thomas
    RM - Newton
    CM - Bennett
    CM -
    LM - Sam
    FW - Lisbie
    FW - Leaburn

    Subs.
    J. Brown
    Fortune
    Shittu
    Grant
    J. Lee
    Campbell-Ryce
    Sankofa
  • GK - Brown
    RB - Moutouakil
    CB - Rufus
    CB - Fortune
    LB - Powell
    RM - Newton
    CM - Keith Jones
    CM - Bennett
    LM - Thomas
    FW - Darren Bent
    FW - Bartlett
  • Personally I would have Phil Walker in over Newts. Williams ahead of Bartlett. And without a shadow of a doubt, Paul Elliot in over Fortune. Tsk.

    So:

    GK - Brown
    RB - Moutouakil
    CB - Rufus
    CB - Elliot (capt)
    LB - Powell
    RM - Walker
    CM - Keith Jones
    CM - Bennett
    LM - Thomas
    FW - Darren Bent
    FW - Williams
  • Don't you think a Keith Jones / Paul Mortimer partnership over Bennett?
  • Nope, you're right. Actually I would put Bennett outside instead of Thomas and Mortimer in the middle.

  • Paul Mortimer should be everybodys choice of Left midfielder/winger.

Urinates on JT from a great height!
  • WE ALL DREAM OF A TEAM OF MARCUS BENTS
  • I suppose Cory Gibbs didn't qualify ......?

    ;o)

    Brown

    Moo2
    Rufus
    Elliott
    Powell (Chris)

    Newton
    Jones K
    Mortimer
    Thomas

    Bent D
    Leaburn

    Subs:

    Randolph
    Fortune
    Bennett M
    Williams
    Bartlett

With the exception of the keeper I'm looking at players who did well for us hence no John Barnes...
  • Thats actually a very good team. would cane our side now.
  • I can't believe that nobody has chosen Mike Small up front!!
  • Lens team rocks although I would have David Whyte or Alex Dyer or Willo instead of Leaburn.
  • Southend go stand in corner Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebburnnnnnnnnnnn just for him always trying 100% and the headless routine at Chelsea.

could have Jimmy FH on bench but dont think the bench is big enough for that arse.
  • What no place for Leroy Ambrose........erm, legend?

Then there was Kenny Achampong, Mike Small and Denis Bailey on loan.
  • Ricky Otto...?

  • A place for Rubean Agboola
  • lots of places for Rubean Agboola none of which would be on a football pitch.
  • Leroy Rosenoir as manager ?

Garth Crooks can help with team talks....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  • ....and Laurie Abrahams can make the tea!
  • Only Ledge wants David Whyte in the team and then on the subs bench - imagine Whye and D Bent up front...two of the best natural goalscorers Charlton have ever had.
  • Jason Lee
    Chris Bart-Williams
  • [cite]Posted By: dartfordgent[/cite]clyde best must get in

    he played for us?

Sorry But Barnes was class, even fro us, just he did not have the players around him to benefit. Overweight but still new how to pick a pass, was never a scrapper but thats why Curbs did not play him enough.

Garth crooks was also great for us, despite the fact he was at the end of his career, remwember him giving Mark Stuart a smack fro being stupid.

And of course, regardless of talent, he has to lead the line Leaaaaaaaaaaaburn!! Leaaaaaaaaaaaburn!! Leaaaaaaaaaaaburn!!
