It's not a cheap solution. We're still paying Dowie. He signed a three year contract and I think we shall be paying the full three years.

What I meant by "cheap" was that he was already here, and so another manager on a big contract won't have to be brought in.

Sacking Dowie was obviously costly - Bumping Reed up to head coach instead of bringing in a "proper" replacement wasn't.
