Racon.....the missing link?

edited July 2008 in General Charlton
After his brief apperances at Palace and Bristol City early last season he was getting good reviews by us, and then received rave reviews when he was down at Brighton. In the couple of pre season games he's again looked a great player. We all say we want a decent midfielder. Could he be the answer?

I say yes.

  • Was not overly impressed at Bromley. Not sure he has the quality to " run" a game in the way Reidy did. I hope I`m wrong
  • Still learning his trade. I like the lad, think he will grow in confidence given a run in the side. I say yes....
  • However there is some talk about him going out on loan again.....

If so, hopefully only until christmas...
  • He also got some terrible reviews at Brighton. When he looks good he is very good but seems a bit up and down.

This maybe down to just moving to England and learning how to play in Championship and League 1 football or cos he's not consistent enough.

Personally I think he's got something.
  • Not seen him so can't say too much, but what we are missing in midfield is an experienced old head, Racon, Shelvey, Semedo can all do a job for us over the coming months but we should not lose sight of the fact we need an experienced central midfield player.
  • I think sometimes you have to back the opinion of the manager. He obviously signed him because he showed promise but he didn't have him in his top thirteen or so because he felt he needed more time to settle/improve - so he sent him out on loan. If he's improving all the time then I'm sure he's in with a shout. Maybe another loan spell first half of the season then back into contention for the second half.
  • I think the fact that he sent him out on loan to Brighton speaks volumes about the managers opinion of him..
