I had hoped to get to this one but felt unwell yesterday and struggled to get through my working day so decided to give it a miss as I didn't fancy a 35 mile drive home at 10:00pm feeling ill.
I was there. Agree with most of FOD's comments. Thought JT was his usual self - some good runs but no end result. None of them really looked up for it - not as much as Bromley anyway. So much for Pardew's comments about "we are ready to start the season now!" Wagstaff was impressive and so was Fleetwood (although he's a bit small...) - got iinto some good positions. Canham looked dire. Thought Fortune defended well - and Moutouakil some great forward runs. We missed 3-4 really great chances and a few others they just didn't take - hope they get all their misses out of the way in pre-season.
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite] Several posts comment on how sharp Bromley looked compared to our lads - but then Charlton have only been training for a week and obviously won't be anywhere match fit.
Can't imagine Bromley have done much training either. Plus they're surely part time?
First word the announcer said- 'hello' was the only audible thing all night.
Somebody did tell him (off-mike) that he should stop shouting, but he replied that they had to have the system 'up loud' to reach all the ground. What he had failed to grasp was that the PA will ampilify the voice, and that there is no need to shout to be heard, as all that happens is total distortion - as last night!
Bit like some folk fail to realise that you don't have to shout to be heard on mobile phone!

Not only doomed - but if our 2nd team can't beat Bromley, then logic dictates that the 1st team will also lose every single League match this season.

Just say "got it?" after a double substitution Dave....... The secret of your future success..... ;-)
Actually- it's a nice little ground and worth a visit on a non- cafc match day- they play some nice flowing footy.....
