Up The Junction competition

We moved into the basement ... with thoughts of relegation,
We stayed below Newcastle ... there was a bit of hassle,
Supporters were dejected ... the manager ejected
But Les says hope still exists ... ... and we still hate the

  • I never thought it would happen with us and a man from Bolton

That night at Cravan Cottage a defeat not forgotton

When he dealt out the tactics and with plenty passion

Some said he was our saviour, others said perhaps, maybe
  • And now we're four days older,
Les Reed is our new soldier,
he's had no time to bed in,
    but we'll follow him to....reading
  • where can i find somewhere to listen to this, one of my fave songs and my boss is out so want to blare it out.

    The Rom is doing 90,
cos his got the word to go.
To get down to the bye line,
and try to score a goal.
    The Benty's in the middle,
and he's given up all hope.
Of the ball ever reaching him,
cos our crosses are a joke.

    Rom's a twat.

LTGR eat your fecking heart out!!

Very underrated band. Maybe the best band from South London ever if you don't count the Stones (Dartford and Penge)

    Who else?

    Lucky Soul

    Dave Clark Five

    Merton Parkas

    Dire Straits
  • i sense anger and anarchy in your writing style 1905.

this could be the re-birth of the punk era...

He is an orange tosser - we'll be around for longer.

  • up the junction

    very good roswell
  • Dowie has gone now its Les that's in charge,

The fans and the board have stopped giving it large,

But Curbs is the one that we miss very much

So the past has been bottled and labelled with love.

I'll get me coat and say g'night lads and lasses. Off to television centre now for Children in Need.
  • I can say I saw them at a pub in Greenwich (near the old swimming pool) can't remember the pub name in 77 and gate crashed a party at Glenn's house opposite the Pose and Crown in Greenwich. Would have been about 77/8. They were OK about it. We were spotty 16 YOs. When we left he said "goodnight lads" so must have known we were gatecrashers all the time. And I went to School with GT (he was five years above me)
  • According to Colin Murray on Radio 1 on Tuesday, the hot tip for next years Mercury Music award is....

    LUCKY SOUL!
  • Bet they forget the people who got them a plug in the Charlton programme. Never saw the T-shirt they promised. Big time Charlies now too big for the real fans now. : - )

PS Magic Numbers 2nd Album sounds like Lucky Soul
  • none of them are real charlton fans anyway, even the one who sits next to me supports pickering town.

Hardy's - I know there's some history with Squeeze and that place. We should get Lucky Soul to do a gig there!
  • les says, there is a Charlton fan called Gary Spence who's on the board at Pickering. Maybe there is a connection

Inspector, don't think was called that then (was a long time ago).

    Down at the Valley
