Could be worse, we could be playing a team that finished below them in the conference south the next night. Oh we are.

Shame there wasn't a big team, like the Champions of Scotland perhaps, available to play pre-season but never mind.

Perhaps that's because the club think that Dulwich Hamlet and Ebbsfleet will prove a tougher test than Celtic?
  • in comparison here's swansea's pre season fixtures so far
    V Bath City
    V Garden Village
    V Aberdeen
    V Bradford City
    V Haverford West
    V ADO Den Haag
    V FC Noordwijk
    V Llaneli

Id say they are getting a bit more of a test.
  • Whats our home fixture going to be?
  • Bromley, braintree wtf we need to be playing at least like Chelsea reserves or Fulham or someone (Premiership or foreign) if we want to be promoted

I think that we need to beat the teams in the Championship to be promoted...

The pre-season games are to get the players fit, work out systems and find the best team to do that - not to satisfy us as fans.

Whats the point in playing big clubs and getting beat in the process?
  • Pre Season should always be about ensuring the players are right to go on the opening day of the season. Be that in terms of fitness, style/pattern of play, team selection and new players fitting in. If that means taking a beating of a Prem team at home then fair enough. I'm sure we would get more out of playing Fullham at home than we did last year playing Braga who keet the ball in baking conditions for teh vast majority of the game and was nothing like any of the oppostion that we faced in the following 51 league and cup matches.
  • There's some merit in both arguments - playing stronger teams stretches the players a bit, while the weaker/local teams allow the team to develop and get match fit.

Who are the teams we are playing on the Spanish tour? Are they Primera Liga sides?
  • In the past we have beaten the likes of Arsenal and then are bloody hopeless come game 1, other times we have drawn with Welling and started well.

I am happy enough with our lot although an awayer with Southend would have been handy.
  • We looked like world beaters at Gillingham away last pre season. Saying that, they were atrocious and not much of a test, highlight of the day was throwing Gumbo down some stairs

  • shocking set of fixtures imho
  • Dulwich Hamlet will be a CAFC XI mixture of first teamers and reserves.
