He didn't command a transfer fee - but I should think ISaw's point was that Iwelumo's wages (& signing on fee) would still have to come out of the club's player budget.

And if 2 or 3 'average' players hadn't been signed, then the funds could have been there instead to purchase one supposedly better quality player purchase.
