Mike Newell started his managial career at Hartlepool, before moving onto Luton Town. There he took them into the play-offs despite the club going into administration, and the next season saw them promoted as Champions of League 1. He then led Luton to a respected 10th in the Championship, before the fire-sale at Luton began, and he eventually left in March 07 after criticising the board. After 15 months out and no failures against his name, very keen to get back into the game.
After a very successful playing career, Dennis Wise took up his managing reigns with our good friends Millwall, and guided them to an improbable FA Cup Final. He was briefly caretaker manager at Southampton, before taking on Swindon Town. His stay there was short-natured, entasked with guiding Leeds away from relegation.
He failed, but shaped a new side that stormed to an unbeating start the following season, before making a surprise move to Newcastle as part of its newly shaped management team. Keen to get back to first-team manager, and sees the Championship as the right level for his next move.
