Strike Partnership for next season

With it just being announced on the club website that Toddy has signed a years extension with the club and the he is more fit than when he joined the club, what strike partnership would you like to see next season?

Toddy and Gray for me, with Varney coming off the bench

  • Fleetwood and Dickson
  • Paul Gorman and Kim Grant...
  • That's a Tough one, I think It would be a case of chopping & changing for the oppo, but you always play one quick one with AN Other so it would mean Varney + Todorov or Varney + Gray for me.
  • VARNEY and either gray or toddy
  • Iwelumo up top alone knowing Pards ;-)

    Too slow in my opinion

Can't see 2 of Iwelumo/Todorov/Gray working together for that reason... one of those (ideally Gray or Todorov) alongside Varney
  • As things stand Varney playing off the shoulder and gray filling the deeper role. Dickson and Toddy as the respective understudies.

agreed, despite being slow to get going I have liked the look of Gray so we have some great competition for a place there
  • for tough away matches Iwelumo up front in a 4 5 1 with varney on one wing with toddy playing as the link between mid and attack, home games Toddy and Varney or Toddy and Dickson, toddy and iwelumo wouldnt work and i dont think gray and toddy would gel either there to simular as pards said when he signed him he was the missing link!
  • Varney & Tod

  • Varney & Gray, Tod to change games.
  • Varney + 1 of Gray or Tod
  • varney and 1 other
  • Varney & Gray with Tod coming off the bench.
  • as long as iwelumo isn't there i don't mind. don't get me wrong......featured in every game but 1 last season and our top scoring striker, but he showed when he came on against coventry that he adds nothing different.

varney toddy and gray for me in 3 up top with varney playing the free role, or varney on the wing and toddy and gray up front
  • Mcleod and Godfrey anyone?
  • Dean Dye (with his bum fluff tache) and Mike Small
  • mcleod on his crutches?
  • Varney and Toddy with Uchechi and Gray off the bench
  • Gray and Varney, Toddy and Mick on the bench

might be an improvement than without;-)
  • [cite]Posted By: ross[/cite]mcleod on his crutches?

It's only a scratch, he can run it off.

I can see that at home.

Away Mr Pardew may want another defender on the bench.
  • Leaburn and Nelson
  • Another Varney and Toldo or gray.
  • Varney and Uchechi ;-)
  • Could you imagine if we did have Uchechi and Dicko upfront with thomas and sam on the wings lol we could be called chavton!
On a serious note Varney and Gray.Toddy coming off the bench(at home)
Away from home i would have Gray and Toddy with varney coming off the bench!

Blimey i remember Dean Dye didnt we sign him from Lincoln United a non-league team?
  • Poor old big Chris. Top scorer and nobody loves him.

Can't see Uchechi breaking through this year.

We don't know if the Fleetwood thing is a goer but assuming it is what type of player is he?

A runner like Varney, a powerful centre forward like Iwelumo, fox in the box like Dickson, hold up man like Toddy and Gray? Anyone know/care?
  • it's not that we don't like big chris henners, he just doesn't really add anything apart from fouling!

fleetwood seems to be a fox in the box what with his goal scoring record. don't see how he'd fit in though, with varney, toddy and gray as our first choice 3, iwelumo in there too, and i doubt dickson would want to go back out on loan.

Paul Gorman, I remember watching him playing for Welling United, scoring goals for fun then he broke his leg at Merthyr Tydfil and was never the same again.
