As someone who had to be in the car when the England game was on, I was really pissed off with the coverage on 5 Live. FFS, just describe the match. If you do it well, you'll be painting images in my head. If you do it reasonably, I'll at least have a fair idea what's going on. If you do it poorly, you'll be waffling on about all sorts of inconsequential shit and I'll have no idea what's happening on the pitch. I have no interest whatsoever in who is sitting next the Ed Shearan, in whom someone thinks Prince George would like to see come on as a substitute or in how Overexcited-Karen thinks the team ought to be playing. Just, describe the match! Impressed? Definitely not.
It is important to know what their half time snacks are though.
  • Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllll...Sven Goran Eriksson being interviewed about England's progress. WTF does he know?

First half was good, second half not so good.
  • Has he commented on Sweden's lack of progress?
  • You go out. You’re prepared. But your wife isn’t.

So if it rains guess who gets the rain jacket.

If it’s cold guess who gets the fleece jumper.

If you are buying rounds guess who’s card is at home.

  • Just seen Darren Farley doing a Benitez impression on sky sports news - do people find this fat annoying twat funny?

Karen Carney full stop. Voice like a chain-saw, unable to pronounce words properly (Souf-ampton, penal-ee area, doing the dir-ee work)...I have had to switch the radio off when she is commentating as she makes my ears sore.

I can’t stand impressionists. It’s mildly entertaining once, then it becomes annoying.

Not as annoying as ‘comedy songs’ tho. Kept getting one via WhatsApp of the mixed raced comedian doing a Matt Hancock ‘it wasn’t me’ by Shaggy. Just not funny at all. Makes my toes curl, especially when someone physically shows you it cos they think its hilarious.
I know the video you’re talking about - all I’ll say is, my girlfriend is lucky she showed it to me in public.

  • Impressionists are only as good as their material.
  • Alistair McGowan is probably the one impressionist I've liked over the years
  • When the impressionist tells you who he's doing is a sign he's not that good.
  • I used to be good at impressions.

If you’ve ever seen the series “The Trip” with Steve Coogan snd Rob Brydon - it is an example of brilliant material along with two capable impressionists/comedians superbly satirising themselves by demonstrating how impressionists can be awful bores.

Kaveh Solhekol (the Sky Sports reporter) - loves the sound of his own voice and rarely talks anything other than complete nonsense.

  • Humble pie from me here,I moaned about the parity of mens and ladies pay at grand slams, have to say, this year there have been some really cracking ladies games, not too many of the one sided massacres that we usually get.

All the electric got used up by people putting on their kettles after the football.

they still don't have to play as much tennis regardless of the quality
  • True and that was my main gripe, but there does not seem to be the amount of early round games in which a 6-0,6-0 in 54 minutes would earn a lady the same as a 3 hour match in the mens section, still think it is wrong.Thats why on the show courts a ladies match nearly always goes first because if they played last, after 2 mens singles,no one would stay.
  • finding two scratch card with £10 on each of them in a jacket pocket then finding out the game is closed and I cant claim the £20

    bastards
  • Went up to QE Hospital for the first time in about 9 years and quite frankly stunned the car parks still use old parking meters which are cash only, no change given and overpayments accepted.

I mean I don't resent paying an hour's parking at a hospital but you'd have thought they would at least have something set up with a company like RingGo or one of those companies you can pay by a mobile app. Especially when i've hardly used cash within the last 18 months and didn't even have £1.50 on me for an hour's parking where I hoped I could at least pay by card or use an app.

Ended up parking along Cemetery Lane. Not because I didn't want to pay £1.50 I just didn't expect the parking meter to still be so ancient and at least give punters a fair chance to pay.
  • Sink taps that don’t actually have enough room for you to put your hands under to wet them. Absolute joke positioning. Why would a sink basin in a public place (bar/pub/restaurant) require a full sink anyway? Half the sink, lengthen the taps! I dream of being able to wash my hands for the required 20 seconds if only I could get them wet enough!

  • When you slightly mistype a long word and it looks like autocorrect will help you. However, by the time you get to the end of the word, it’s miles off unfoggily unfortunately.
