'Charlton have already received planning permission from Greenwich Council to increase The Valley's capacity to 40,000, but Mr Waggott conceded there was unlikely to be any redevelopment while the club remained outside of the top flight.'

Thats not correct.[/quote]
That is what he said. The TV money from being in the top flight will make it more likely to happen.
As for the insightful thing LargeAddick, maybe not as Steve has done a few of these interviews already but he is quite keen on getting his message out there while he is still quite new to the job so why not.
Wrong newshopper the council will not give planning permission due to the ownership of the new appartments that are going to go behind the east stand check matchday programmes of the previous season Peter Varney said this.
Get you. The version which appeared on the website is the same one which will go in tomorrow's Bexley ediotion of the paper.
Unfortunately because of space (or 'lack of' to be more precise), some of Steve's quotes about this did not go in initially. I'm happy to update the web version to include those quotes which make clear, despite the Greenwich Council rejection of the additional plan in March, the long term goal of the club is still to have a stadium with a 40,000 capacity. I hope this makes things clearer and the updated version can be found now at

That's okay per se BUT I think most of us realise that any ground expansion is not viable until we are back in the top flight but in the meantime we are concerned as to how we are going to get back there so although Steve wants to get his message out there perhaps it's a different message we want to hear at the moment.
So let ne get this right News shopper fella. Are you saying that you have Gooners in your office ? where is this office old chap? i havea pest control company that specialises in geting rid of sarf London Gooners "Gooners aint flamable" its called. has a certain ring to it dont you think ?
PS you might wanna check your insurance covers fire !!
Well we do have one but she isn't here today you will be happy to hear. Personally I find Chelski fans much more offensive but each to their own I suppose.
Ledge mate he cant be trying hard enough if his office is infested with Gooners ! If you let em settle and they actually win something then ur into a plague situation as they come out of the wood work. The offending area has to be treated with fire its a well known cure.
