Comparing the rest of the division.....

Their final places compared to how you rated them against us and other times you see.

West Brom seemed deserved Champions in my book. Strong, balanced squad and played the best football. If they hadn't been caught up in the cup i think they would of won it a lot clearer.

Bristol City also really impressed me at The Valley. Only drew, but really dominated play that night and seemed a real organised unit.

Palace i just don't get. One of the worst sides i have seen in this division on the two occassions we played them, but had neither Moses or Sinclair on the wings in those games.

  • I'd put Hull alongside your Palace as well.

Was really suprised by Southampton/Sheff Utd being so poor.

Watford falling away so dramatically was a suprise as well.

Coventry were really good at the start of the season and scoring goals andwinning games - suprised to see them finish where they did.
  • WBA and B City i agree mate, but worst teams surely has to be Hull time wasting after 10 mins never attempted to play any football either. Stoke possibly the worst team ever promoted.

Palarse are now playing football and Warnock did the classic rebuild from A-Z. He got them hard to beat, they didnt win many games eary days , then they pushed on got more confident and the kids were brought in.

Looking at what Derby have experiened how can you enjoy that ? seeing your side humiliated every week.
  • WBA true worthy champions scored bag loads looked great up there against us i thought we had the beating of them in the cup and league here but IMO deserved winners

Stoke Nope thought although they were hard to beat i still wouldnt have Fuller in my team. I thought they defended well against us but they never tried to beat us at our place and we gifted them the goals at theirs. Didnt rate them at all but well done reminded me of Bradford City when they went up.

Bristol City the best team i thought after WBA. i like GJ i enjoyed talking to the 2 players that evening when Lita signed and thought they played excellent football shame they have faded away would like them to win PO's

Hull i hate Phil Brown .

Palarse Warnock has done extreemly well to get them there they r shite will always be shite Jordans shite ground is shite and if they dont go up they will do what happens to Most teams when they miss out at the Semis in PO's have a shite season next year hopefully but the 6 points we took were taken extreemly easily

Watford unlike Stoke their boring long ball rough tuff football hasnt succeeded and i am glad of that worse performance than us i believe atleast we had the excuse of restructuring the playing squad for a length of time they had the majority of their Prem team so should have achieved more.

    Winners Bristol City

Mifsud went 26 games without scoring, which didn't help.

If Sunday was the best they could muster in arguably their cup final, then i'm not suprised they were down there.

They lost the tactical and motivational genius of Iain Dowie. No surprise they dropped like a stone.

    we all do
  • I'm amazed that Watford can win one of their last fourteen and still get in the play-off's. Don't really care who wins as long as it ain't Palace. From next season point of view it would be best if Watford went up as I can still see them being strong next season whereas I don't think Hull, Bristol or Palarse will do as well.
  • Watford were always in a false position for me. Even when they were well clear at the top i said i was convinced they wouldn't get promoted. They will fail in the play offs and Boothroyd will be gone by December latest.

Their season went downhill when Johnson went back to Boro, and then went properly off the rails when they sold King.
  • [cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Charlton were always in a false position (5th) for me. Even when they were well of 6th i said i was convinced they wouldn't get promoted. They would've failed in the play offs and Pardew will be gone by December latest.

Their season went downhill when Todorov got injured, and then went properly off the rails when they sold Reid.
  • Good

    Barnsley
    Bristol City
    West Brom

    all Tried to play football.

    Disliked

Hull - dirty team and whinging fans
Stoke - A Tony Pullis team, drab but effective
Plymouth - has some good players but finished Todorov
Sheff Utd - team of big lumps
    Watford - Ditto
Burnley - were good with Gray, sold us Gray, looked terrible without Gray when we played them and still beat us
(Andy Gray's shirt is a good thing to have BTW)

    Poor

    Coventry - in both games
Colchester - there for the taking in both games
Palace - offered nothing in either game
Blackpool - conceeded 7 goals to us
Cardiff - How did they get to a cup final without having a shot against us

    Underperformed

Leicester - should have been going for promotion
    Charlton - were 5th for a while

    The rest

    Can't remember their names

  • i thought watford were unlucky not to beat us at the valley and despite being 2 goals up and drawing2-2 we were lucky to get a point.... their recent form has been junk so i have no idea who might beat palace in the play offs cos i don't think city or hull have it in them... oh what a mare it should've been us ffs what a sh*t season , it's our fault them muppets might go up we could've stopped them
  • Bristol City were the best side I saw at the Valley

thought they played us off the park after the first 20 minutes

Sheff Utd should have done better but waited too long to release themselves from the managerial genius of Robson otherwise they would have made the play-offs. With Beattie up front they probably still should have - was actually our win there which almost cost them in the end.

Thought Hull were coming for a point to help their battle against relegation in December - still can't quite work out how they nearly snatched an automatic spot. didn't see that one coming at all!!

Played Palace and Stoke off the park in successive games at the Valley and to see one of them up already and the other set fair to join them is what really grates
  • Hey Nth London, why no Fuller in your team? Thought he looked exceptionally dangerous when i saw him at the Valley, strong, direct and quick. Just interested why you're so anti?
  • WBA the best team....

Others who played well in my opinion Barnsley, Wolves, Ipswich 2nd half, Bristol City probably the best blend of footballing and in your face muscling, I liked the way Blackpool tried to play.
  • I thought WBA were best followed by Ipswich then Wolves, Bristol City and Barnsley. Palarse were poor especially at the Valley, although that co-incided with perhaps our best home performance of the season.
  • Santa

I thought he loked like he could hurt us at any moment and then he went into fall down mode he was time wasting, falling over and stopping us from taking throws and free kicks, the only time he tried against us was after we went 1 up. You would have thought he would have had a point to prove to us and imo he didnt try

I think he is like Marcus Bent and that Stoke are the only team to get somethinig out of him

just dont like him buddy at all
  • Fair enough fella. To be honest i didn't remember the time wasting but i know how it winds me up too. I just remember that he seemed one of the few strikers i've seen who could hit you from way out and make their own openings with sheer pace. We lacked that this season.
  • best footballing teams WBA, Barnsley and Bristol City for me good all round teams with Brian Howard the best of the bunch IMO

worst - Palace but hats off to Warnock, Hull and Stoke - stoke will try and be Bolton and kick their way inthe PL and PULIS hate him
  • WBA best team I've seen home & away.

both Hull & Bristol city were poor at their places and amazed where they both finished up - city esp as at ashton gate they didn't have a shot on goal all night. As for the rest.......Ipswich looked good at Portman rd and if they sort their away form out next season will be in the top 6. Both scunny & Colchester were pants and shows that a) you don't want to play a newly promoted team 1st game up and b) you dont want to let ex-strikers go to opposition clubs as they have a point to prove.

Palace - good luck to them. Had the balls to get rid of theitr manager mid-term & bring in someone who knows the division. Hope they go up and it will be one in the eye for all those on here whose sole motivation this season has been to beat Palace and not worry about the other 21 clubs. Well fellas, you got what you wanted and hope you enjoyed those 2 games. I personally would have preferred to have got stuffed twice by them and gone up, but thats another story. ordinary.

Did you just make these "fellas" up golfie? 'Cos I'm not sure anyone would have been happy with just beating Palace. Some are highly motivated by beating Palace, there was a poll about it, but I'm sure there's not one who has it as their "sole" motivation. Seems like a convenient "straw man" to support your position.
