Jon Fortune at Fleet services yesterday...

edited May 2008 in General Charlton
I bumped into Jon Fortune yesterday at Fleet services. Or rather he noticed me wearing a Charlton top and said hello and shook my hand. Seemed like a nice guy.

Just wondered. As you can tell from name I have to pass Fleet services so thought my son and me may not be the only members of the Southampton branch of the supporters club. lol

Heh, heh, yeah, thought you may have assumed that I was on my way south, rather than on my way north. Fair assumption, really.

Bit of a trek for each game, isn't it?

Hey, Woody, did Fortch chat much to you?

You know, he hasn't featured regularly or even at all recently. Is he looking for a move or is Pards forcing him out?

I bet he's regretting not signing for Stoke for £400k at the beginning of the season.
He'd have been promoted to the Prem by now !

Only an hour and half if the traffic is ok. The worst bit is getting off the M25 onto the A2. Good job I can find me way round the traffic jams.

    Hey Oggy,

He didn't really say much, he seemed to be in a hurry and I didn't want to hold him up. I was a bit stuck for what to say really. Which was probably for the best as it's normally in those situations that you end up saying something really stupid.

No idea what's going on - should have asked him really! - but he seemed really happy to have seen a Charlton fan.

Maybe he's having talks with a south-coast club? That's just a guess, btw!
  • Thanks, Woody.
You missed your big moment lol - I'll write a 20 questions script for you, for next time. ;o)

Good to hear that he was the one who first said hello, quite often Pro footballers run a mile in these circumstances. Well done Jon.

He's been at The Valley a long time now - youth team centre forward alongside Derek Hales' boy, and now surely longest serving player, now SuperKev has found a club that appreciates him.
