Some things never change

edited May 2008 in General Charlton
I've got my cd book today from the real Len Glover and it is fascinating not just for the Charlton content.

However one salient passage given the events of this season are his comments on the importance of confidence to a player and how the Charlton boo boys made it hard for him to establish himself.

All i would say is he made his debut in 1962 and has only just completed his autobiography. The point being that those boos are worthy of recall 46 years on!

Pardew is an irritating arrogant so and so but booing is not the answer in my humble opinion.

If the kids and the inexperienced play tomorrow, I just hope the idiots won't boo them, if mistakes are made.

Footballers thrive on confidence, let's not destroy the young players - remember they can't tell the difference just because people themselves think they're booing say, Iwelumo.
  • How can that be true len?

We know that in the old days all the players always gave 100%, all loved the club and all the fans got behind the team, in huge numbers home and away, for every game.

PS Can I borrow the book when you are finished with it.
  • No. Buy your own, Henry.

PS: Len, don't lend it to Henry, lend it to me, please.
    Thanks!
