edited April 2008 in General Charlton
Will be under the control of new Chief Executive Steve Waggott, not Richard Murray according to the Official Site - and they should know

  • that really makes no sense whatsoever.

Regardless of new chief exec, new chairman etc, Murray still runs the shop.
  • In Murrays own words" i will be nearer the budget process and The manager" when asked what will be happening after Varney left and he stood down as Chairman.
  • can only be a good thing if anything muzza may need to crack the whip a little harder
  • Horses for courses, Waggott has worked as an agent and has good connections within the industry and if so then it makes sense to advantage of those connections and his experience.

Again I trust Murray, he has relinquished some control, and we have to hope it's in the right direction and that Waggott knows what he's doing. It's an adantage that he's been around the club as CEO of the Trust for the last few years, and has just taken over from Varney, so clearly the board trust him.

I'm more worried about the Hairstyle and the cross-eyes...
  • never trust a man with facial hair, they could be hiding something
  • cornflakes
  • All Murray's doing is delegating some of the day to day stuff to somebody who can give it full on focus.
Surely, it's far better to have a specialist in a team rather than a 'jack of all trades' who won't relinquish any control?

In any case, I would imagine that many decisions would have to be ratified at Board level before being concluded.
It's the way a Board works.

  • Either way reality hit me when i read in one of the local papers about some of our alleged transfer targets. A right back from Plymouth, a bloke from tranmere, and a winger from Barnet!!

Its good that we've managed to keep the striker from Forrest Green Rovers hush hush though !
  • The last winger from Barnet we signed turned out to be the legendary ..........Paddy Powell !

  • We are doing a swopses thing i.e we say we have a player and the rest of the clubs say ok we will swop this guy or those guys for him them etc. Its to do with our carbon Footprint and us being real into the green thingy greenwich council etc etc etc and and the fact we aint got no money.

We have actually started this process off. week ago we sent out to all the clubs a memo saying we would swop Thomas, didnt you hear the laughter from all over the UK? Mind you the Gills bid of six black bags and a fee car wash seemed a good one to me.

Amandi Faye swoped 4 one bog brush (used)
  • yeah but theres always some mug out there who will pay good money for crap, I mean we did..
